@Yaroslav, @Impmaster, & @Panurge: Thanks ! I love the cartoon style If you can't find a programmer, try something like GM or Stencyl, it's pretty easy to learn. If you do that I can help you here or there. As I already said, the animation is really awesome. I actually have a copy of GM, and although I've spent some time in it poking around, I am far too non-technical & impatient to ever think I could make a game on my own with it. Cloudface is my spare time project, & what little time I have I don't want to be stumbling around, wrestling a program into submission & making THE SLOWEST progress. I just don't have the brain for it. That's why I make draws The past couple weeks I've been doing exploratory environment & enemy sketches. Here's a few randomocities from that. These next couple weeks I'm going to try and solidify the overarching story. The story in Cloudface will be pretty minimal, akin to the 'storylines' from the canon SMB games. I hate when games are all story and no game, so I want to keep it extremely minimal so you can just jump in and start playing. Dat concept art <3

Barley, if you can do anything with those sprites I'd love to see it. Although for the actual game I think using vector images is ideal, for zooming in and out of the playfield & for cut scenes as I'm using Flash for everything. But I don't know how any of that works coding-wise.
I'll give it a go really quickly in C#/Monogame and see what I can come up with.

That's definitely a factor for sure. This game has to exist! That face! It will! That's the best part!

Some very broad enemy / boss / whatever ideas. Still brainstorming stuff. We should have a programmer here soon!

Hah, what a great character! I love his running animation with hands flopping around. Lovely. The perpetual smile reminds me of Moonman. In fact Cloudface is like a combination of Moonman and Octodad.

I complimented the animation for the main character in the GIF thread. Looking forward to following this game's progress!

Please tell me he will be able to attack with rain/wind/lightning/hail. I think it would be neat if instead of just jumping on enemies like most platformers, you have to hover over them and release some sort of attack. Like literally eating thunder and pooping lightning.

@Trystin: thanks! Please tell me he will be able to attack with rain/wind/lightning/hail. I think it would be neat if instead of just jumping on enemies like most platformers, you have to hover over them and release some sort of attack. Like literally eating thunder and pooping lightning. We're going to mess around with different things. My initial plan was to keep the power ups to a minimum, even to the point of not having any, & letting the gameplay revolve around your hovering ability. But whenever I show Cloudface to people, they immediately have the same idea about the rain/lighting etc. stuff. So in a sense I don't want to not take advantage of that appeal.
