Update November 2014
Yam Yam is free for a while on iOS and is also free on Android. So if you've never played it now's the time...!

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.honeytribe.yamyam

Hi, I'm Shaz an indie dev from London. I make games under the studio name Honey Tribe Studios.

My games tend to be a bit different and my latest and 4th release is no exception. It's called Yam Yam: Puzzle Guardians and doesn't really fit into an existing genre category. It's a "side-scrolling-projectile-throwing-colour-switching-physics-puzzler". Smiley

It's out on iOS (universal) and Android via Google Play and Amazon.

Here's a vid so you can see what I mean:

Download links are here: http://www.honeytribestudios.com/studio-news/yam-yam-puzzle-guardians

If you give it a spin please do let me know how you get on with it and/or leave a review in the app store.

It's an interesting game so if you like discovering new things you'll like this one. On the iOS store Apple UK and a bunch of other countries have featured it as New & Noteworthy in the Games section.

Suggestions for updates welcome. Smiley

UPDATE
V2.0 is now out!

The gameplay looks great. But I don't like the inconsistency of the lines. The face of the elephant is great but everything else has just a dull lining.

Dull lining? (I'm not an artist, other peeps do the art in my games).

I had a nice surprise. Yam Yam made is New & Noteworthy in the UK App Store in Games and 27 European stores too!

Here's a cool pic   Gentleman

So for those interested in app store stats and whatnot, according to my hourly chart tracker Yam Yam is currently at around 800 in UK iphone games. France too. And somehow it's about 200 in Russia.

Be so cool if it can continue to climb.

Nice to see the Reddit thread in the indie games section is doing well. My posts don't normally get that many upvotes so it's cool to see people are happy that a 1-man studio is getting a little bit of featuring from Apple.

If you happen to use reddit too, feel free to 'vote  Beer!

Version 2.0 is out now. It has some big changes, the gameplay has been overhauled and feels quite different.

All the download links are here.

I've been working on these changes for a while. I felt the original had a cool and original gameplay mechanic but after the initial release it seemed like I hadn't hit the gameplay feel I was going for.

So I've been taking it to my local developer events here in London and getting a lot of other devs to play, watch how they get on with changes and then listen to their feedback. This collective of ideas has helped shape Yam Yam into it's current form.

The main things to be changed are:

The controls have been changed and simplified. It feels much more satisfying to hit those high arching shots now.

The challenge is more fun. You have to get 3 out of 3 to pass each level and the feeling of beating the level is much better.

There are some new graphics and some adjustments to the characters so the game looks better than it ever has. A comment above described inconsistent lines and the update addresses this.

Overall the gameplay experience is much smoother and more fun.
