Long time no see, site. I recently restarted this project, and figured I should update the forum post too. Check out the links (indiedb mostly) above for more info. The readme included in the download also tells you how to host and play the game. When you're done playing and want to give feed back, look at these google docs: Bug Report FormTo-Do List (Check here before submitting bug)Weapons Survey

W-well time for an update I guess! I released a new version, it fixes bugs, balances weapons and other things. Network lag is in need of testing so I don't know if thats fixed yet. Check it out! Also I made it into the indieDB headlines today! Yay!

The one and only! I thought it would be amusing to me to base this off of it, since it was the first thing I made.

Dude I played all the boring man games! I remember being baffled at the time that anyone could do that with game maker. This looks pretty fun, I'm glad to see you're still working with boring man, I'll give it a download!

Haha weird because I remember them being exceptionally awful. Anyways, tonight I will try to motivate myself to work on a map editor. Some features I plan for is the ability to use custom tile sets, and custom collision boxes for terrain. You can select between terrain types (normal, deadly, icy, etc), and place other special game objects in the map and give them properties. For example, you can place an enemy, bot, mob, whatever, give him a name, color and gun. This can give the map editor cool options for people to have like, co-op maps or something i dunno.

I'm making a map editor now, which can be shared on multiplayer servers. Hopefully I can get some FTP stuff going where the server host can automatically send you the map file. http://i.imgur.com/7QIhBFE.pngNothing fancy, but it really is the first time I've tried something like this. Also I have a little greenlight page, but its only in draft mode, and will probably stay that way: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=172063783

I take criticism pretty well, sooo if you have any suggestions i'd appreciate it! Anyways, have a new video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VISfais9Ed8It's a railgun! With instagib! And very very confidence shattering aimbotty AI! Some GIFS! Tell me this isn't the coolest thing I added so far, I dare you. I know skateboards dont move too well through dirt and snow.. but that wouldn't be very fun now would it?

I'm tracking you on indiedb!
This is a pretty cool game you've got here. I love stick figures, and your animations are fairly decent( would be nice if you got a really talented stick figure artist on your team or something) so I will definitely be follow it's progress.
Only quirk I have is the skateboards animation. When you go up slope the skateboard should reflect that change(maybe make the skateboard go up a bit). Also consider adding some real-time shadows! Shouldn't be too hard to implement since your dealing with 2D, but I think it would give off a sleek and realistic tone to the environment? I also think you should be able to duck on your board(just 'cuz) and perhaps carry it so you won't have to ditch the board if you wanted a faster way through the snow?

Thanks!! When you can't draw, best you can do is keep it simple.
I'm working on the skateboards, not sure if they'll be a final product, I'll probably leave them out for a while. I really would like to reflect the ramp and such but it's incredibly hard to do without a skeletal system in place or anything.
Haha team.. it's just me really. I do just about everything, only help I have is my friend who made a server list for me in python so we could run it on our linux server. I'd kill to know a decent graphics artist.

Well hello old thread. This game has been completed now, if this site even cares. It now features 60 weapons, 6 game types, some better net code and other cool stuff. Feel free to check it out. http://kdegrose.com/boringman/

It's really awesome that you finished this. People might overlook it since it's a stick figure but the mechanics are pretty solid. The mouse aim is excellent and the camera is really smooth. I get a lot of nostalgia playing this, because I remember playing the original boring man with my friend when we were 13.

Ehehehe, thanks friend, it was certainly nostalgic writing the lore section! Since its just stickmen, I never took the project entirely too seriously, I learned a lot about net coding and can actually make something with even more solid functionality and maybe have an artist helping. But in the mean time, I hope a few people can enjoy it.
