I'm not really into this licensing stuff, it just rubs me the wrong way.
Look, the sprites are free to use and modify and I don't need any credit, but if you're really into the licensing stuff, propose me a good one and I'll probably agree to it.

On a side note, I'm expanding the tileset bit by bit, and I am planing on some more mockups soon.

I expanded the tileset a bit, and made some small mockups. There is noticeable color bleed on the cliffs, but I redrew them in the tileset, so it will not be an issue anymore.

As of 7.9.2014 (today) I've changed the tileset licence so it isn't free anymore.

Great work. I suggest to split your tiles into different sheets. Will make it easier to work with.

I keep it on one sheet, as I need to reference the tiles for modularity and tile-ability. It's easier to copy and paste, too. I'm also rearranging the tileset to be less cluttered.

What bad you might have done in your life before - this utterly magnificent art just absolved you of all sins you could possible ever do in your life. Oh crap, look at that lovely stuff! I'd give a blowjob for that but I don't even know whether you have a dick so I'll just get around, paint your name on walls while devoting an entire cult to you.

I'll trade that blowjob for a program that let's me color the tiles instead doing it manually in MsPain, thank you.

Well, you could simply use the demo version of graphics (unrestricted except for GIFs and ICO files), create two layers where upper one is a sprite mask in black und the lower one the color you want to the sprites. Add a grid with the lowest sprite resolution, snap selection to grid and fill the sprite rectangles with the desired color. Then you can copy them whereever you want - two-click solution once you've set set it up.

You could also just copy the sprite mask on white background and colorize it later. Very simple to achieve using Graphics Gale (demo can be used without time restrictions).

I'm pretty sure I saw one or more of those faux-ASCII art programs that were all the rage here a bunch of months back allowed custom char maps.

A char mode editor is precisely what you need.

Awesome work. I'm so jealous of you pixel art abilities. I've tried to limit myself to 2 colors per sprite/square before, but I've always given up and added more colors.

Shit, that is a resourceful use of pixels. I love just staring at those screenshots and looking at all the details and imagining exploring a world like that.

Very cool.
