I made the patron who requests great works look unique:

Among a bunch other changes. I feel like there is a lot left to do (especially ranks and events) but I won't be able to get absolutely everything done by tomorrow. So we do what we always do: cut it out. I'm gonna do a few more minor balance changes, a couple bigger changes and do some final playtesting to see what else can be improved. Probably just more balancing and polishing. Then add sounds and music and the build should be ready to go. Not perfect, but ready to go.

Guild sign!

People were complaining about the brush, tried to make it more obvious:

Relaxing Smiley

One thing i would keep in mind: The player will spend most of the time listening to the background loop. You should have enough variation. Maybe some really calm parts as well.

I'm very excited for this game, good work. I was wondering how much it would cost on release.

Thanks! By background loop you mean the ambience water sound? I could try to add more variation. Different "maps" (cities) will have different ambient sounds as this (Venice) is the only one with water.

Thanks! I'm thinking $10, let me know if you think that's fair. There will be many additions still before release.

I think that's fair, maybe have a small discount when it is released. I will definitely buy it. When will it be released around?

I was talking about the piano loop from the video. Thought this would be in the game as well.

If I can do everything I want to do and the game turns out how I imagined it, I think it would be worth that. But I'm really worried about people finding it expensive.

I hope to release it this year at some point. No release date yet.

Oh, yes. The piano piece is only one of the songs in the soundtrack. Right now we have 5 songs total by the game's composer, Morvan. They're on a playlist so it's not just 1 song playing over and over like it was in the alpha.

I've updated the project's completeness from 20% to 40%. It's probably more right now, as I had forgotten to update that in a while, but whatever.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates for the past week. I got sick but I'm getting better now.

I was playtesting and one thing I noticed is that there should be a furniture to increase the max painting stock. The starting stock should be less. Also, there should be a bonus if you have your stock above 75% (or something).

Edit: I should also add furniture salesmen to come to the guild and offer cheaper prices than you can usually buy. This will encourage players to buy more furniture. More useful furniture needs to be added too.

In memoriam of my playtest painters and their cause of death, a macabre shrine.

Rest in RIP.

More things to add:

-beards
-empty portrait slots (click them to hire new painter)
-gray hair and beards (gradual with old age)
-jail time
-'random' sickness and contamination
-an item to heal some health
-a pop-up before death by illness giving the player a last chance to save the artist

Yes, they already die from sickness and old age. The gif I posted above shows portraits of 2 artists that died due to sickness because they studied that decaying body too much.

Probably this has been already asked before: do you plan to release a newer demo version before releasing the game?

No. I was planning to before it was greenlit, but there is no point now.

I am considering releasing a web demo on Newgrounds/Kongregate after release, but that is just a thought right now.
