Looks really good, and the difference is significant enough to make them easy to recognize.

Good job  Gentleman

Thanks guys!  Embarrassed

Started working on Florence again. Rome is next. I think I'll do some painting sketches for color schemes, I'm having a hard time when going straight into pixel art. I want the 3 different cities (Rome, Florence and Venice) to have unique color palettes and still look good.

I prefer '1'. It's much easier on the eyes (especially the sky).

Definetely 1st version. I like the red buildings in the second version, but the background looks too saturated in comparison to the foreground building (especially the sky and the color of the soil layers). At least on my uncalibrated screen...

Maybe leave the sky as it is and just change the the buildings and ground?

Thanks zorg and Rebusmind. I like the tweaks and I'll play around with it, might go with the warm ground.

That's a small write-up on some of the recent updates (artist customization and great painters) for IndieDB.

I made a Caravaggio-themed wallpaper for fun:

Thanks to Bob Granny's post for the inspiration.

Thanks Mr Underhill!

ROME! I really wanted to avoid a blue sky this time, since Florence and Venice already have blue skies. But it's hard to not make it hard on the eyes (what a bad sentence). Let me know which one you like!

I think I like Venice the most, cause I love the water and it just looks like a great place to make a vacation. :D

I liked Venice and Florence.

Rome is okay, but a bit dull compared to others. I don't think it's only about the color of the sky, but also ground patterns and background elements seems a bit crude and they fight with the foreground elements for attention.

Nice work, anyway.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree, Rome is lacking. I'm working on it.

I really wanted a unique color palette, but it just wasn't working. So it's back to standard.

More detailed background buildings and ground too.

Very nice! Looks much better now. The level of detail fits to the other two cities. Green ground is a good idea. You should use the wavy ground structure for Florence, too. I'm glad you dropped the different sky idea. This offers a better option to add weather effects or day/night.

I tried an overpaint before your update, but failed at Rome. I used the black and white versions and tried to balance the contrast between foreground and background. I like Venice, because the foreground is separated well from the background. I think some of your colors are still to saturated.
