Hey guys,

My name is Billy and I am the project manager on this new indie game called Cornerstone: The Song of Tyrim.

We are looking for some feedback on the overall look and presentation of the game. We are currently in early development and want to make sure we are heading in the right direction.

A Demo Trailer ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X-X2a4JnP0

An open world, action/adventure/puzzle game with an emphasis on physics and player-choice.
We felt there was a hole in the market regarding open world physics games.

Our goals with this game are for you explore a vibrant and interesting world, using physics in your own way to:
• Create mechanisms and objects,
• Share ideas with your friends on how to get better results doing missions.
• Engage in combat.
• Solve puzzles.
• Play around with the world.

Platforms: PC, Mac and Linux.
This game is currently in the Pre-Alpha stage.

Heres our tumbr to stay update: http://ascensiongames.tumblr.com/

Wow, this looks fantastic.

How is the world generated? In the demo trailer the town and puzzles looked hand-made, but you're calling it an open world?

Will there be any progression in the game or will players just mess around, solving random puzzles?

The world is open to explore , but yes there will be a narrative to pull you through the content, its very early stages so some things will have to be figured out throughout development, like how optional certain quests/puzzels will be... But for now our goal is to create the freedom of choice throughout the puzzels and quests.

I guess I'm not completely clear on what you mean by the term "open world" (I thought you meant sandbox, like Mine Craft). I guess I can rephrase my questions.

Is the world procedurally generated or is it hand-made?

If you have set quests and puzzles, in what way does free choice factor in? The order in which you take on quests? How you solve different puzzles? Modifying the world? Branching story?

ok sorry! im thinking of the rockstar games gta - red dead redemption as "open world"

So yes hand made with some random elements. The order in which you take on quests wont be completely optional but branching in a similar way to a gta a game 2-3 missions at a time you choose the order..
