MR. CROW EATS WORMS

Playable Demo!:

Sam Baylus and Jeremy Lowther: Programming

Jeremy Lowther: Artwork/Music

So, on my path to get motivated and productive for a different game ( DINOSWORD: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=34111.0 ) I've ended up working on a relatively quick game to see how working in a team... works.

I started this game back when I first started to learn about making pixel art a couple years back. I worked on it a little with the guy who's making Kentucky Route Zero ( http://www.kentuckyroutezero.com ) on the Flixel forums, but it was not meant to be.

Early version of the game:

Controls:

Directional Keys: Move around.
Space Bar: Use Item.
Enter Key: Switch Item.

Man, I want to love this, and I do, but anything that keeps you away from Dinosword is pure evil

No fear! This is definitely a small project, but it's been a blast working on it! The game's been coming together really quickly.

Fantastic work! The concept for this is great, it has an interesting mechanic as well. My only compliant is that sometimes getting caught in a hole just placed gets annoying. I understand that is the point of the gameplay, but I would add maybe a few second grace period when a hole is first placed before it becomes trappable.

This has got a very Dough TenNaple feel to it for some reason. That art style is badass. Get Terry S Taylor or someone similar to do the soundtrack and I'm sold on the vibe alone. That, and the room-to-room top down view style reminds me of Binding of Isaac, which is another wonderful thing. Definitely have a thing for small games, hope to see this one completed soon! Or at last in a playable state.

@siskavard

I can understand, but don't worry! We are moving at quite a clip on this. Much of the art is finished.

@TNERB

That's a very good point. I actually was thinking the same thing, but I wasn't sure what the proper solution should be. Maybe to place the holes further away and change the animation to make it a little less instantaneous if you decide to move down? We'll get something figured out.

Cacto Loco is looking awesome.

@PureBredGentleman

Thanks! I honestly didn't know Doug TenNaple by name. I loved the artwork for Earthworm Jim though. I hope you end up enjoying the final state of the game. I have some interesting ideas up my sleeve for Mr. Crow that should make for some interesting gameplay.

That you loose text begs to have a high score listed under it.
