Hey guys,

finally I bought an Android phone and now I can make tests quickly, so I'm thinking of releasing a game. It will be a "hidden object" game in which the hidden object is a dog which has run away from home and he's now visiting the major World Wonders and some other famous places like: Paris, Madrid, Venice, London, Colorado Canyon, Tokyo, Iguazu Falls, Sao Paulo, Beijing, Vietnam, New Dehli, Coral Reef, Bavaria Castles, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Easter Island, Egypt... Am I missing a place?

Here's a character sheet, the dog will be hidden among, of course, a set of Japanese tourists, they are always loitering the places and making the dog difficult to find.

What do you think of the overall project and the graphics so far? There will be some kind of bonus like stars and other stuff, on each level you will have a time countdown to find the dog.

Do you think I could charge someone $0.99 for this? Is there an easy way to share scores on Facebook through an Android app or to store scores on a custom system? Thanks in advance.

Is the plan to use real backgrounds with cartoon characters milling about, or is it going to be big illustrations based on those locations, ideally with unique characters, poses and distractions for each?

The characters aren't particularly interesting or varied, and I'm unsure why the focus on Japanese tourists (unless this is your target audience, perhaps) when you could do a variety of characters and make it more perplexing. It seems like a white dog would easily stand out against the backdrop even with a disguise like you've shown. There's nothing wrong with the art, except that what you have is not enough to judge by.

I think what determines if your game is a flop or not is the quality and detail of each location to explore. That will not only make the first play through the game amusing, but give the player reason to go back after finding the dog to search the location and see what details they might have missed the first time through.

You ought to present an example of what you think a finished level from the game will actually look like, since that'll give some material to judge difficulty (you might not be going for a difficult game, but you don't want it to be trivial) and whether or not the art is likely to stand up to a variety of levels without the backdrops being arbitrary (copy/pasting dogs and tourists over different backgrounds will feel repetitive very quickly).

I second SirNiko's idea, make some illustrated mocks of the gameflow Smiley

There are a few services on the net that will give you score systems thrugh a API for a fee i think.
As for the social element, Android has a Facebook library you can use to share images/scores with.

Thanks a lot! I'll investigate on that Facebook library, seems interesting.

Of course those characters are not the only ones who will appear, I'm planning to do more, mixed with the dog and the Japanese, altogether now!

Anyway, I'm porting now a game I made for flash to Android, the one I'm mentioning above is now the second of the queue.

THANKS!!!!1!1!
