So this one game...

It was entirely made of black and white static -- to look at a screenshot, it was completely random noise. But in motion, you could make out the shapes of objects as they moved around in the world. 2D platformer, I believe.

It is quite difficult to search for "game static platformer" online...

There was this PSP adventure puzzle game. I think it was a port of a Japanese game due to the character design. You played as a girl with short white hair. It started out on a boat traveling to an island, you had a journal and camera. It was 3D with fixed cameras and controlled a little like Resident Evil. But it had these Myst-like puzzles that you had to solve to progress onto the island. It was very narrative heavy, I think the girl you played as was an orphan or something.

I didn't play it but that gimmick of Lost in static sounds similar to The unfinished swan, of which I've only tried the demo but that was really cool. You should check it out. It also won't hurt your eyes.

There's this game, I think it was an indie FPS which was in development. I remember seeing GIFs of it a few months ago. You walked around these buildings which were partly made of static (like on an old TV). You had two cats, one in each hand, and I think you could throw them around to do stuff.

Basically I just want reassurance that this is a real thing and I'm not going completely mad.
