Years ago (probably around '98 or '99) I saw someone preview a PS1 game at a store. All I saw was a character select screen where you could choose between 2 or 3 characters (not sure). I mistook it for Castlevania at the time because one of the characters had a whip, but it definitely had 3D graphics, which rules that out. Each of the characters was depicted with a different playing card in the background. Due to the whip and the playing card thing, I imagine it could have been a wild west-themed game, but I'm really not sure.

I think about ten years ago, I had a Star Wars game demo for the PC...
It was an RTS in kind of a 3/4 isometric view. It was 2D, not 3D. You could sometimes play as Darth Vader, and when you did you could turn enemy units to the dark side and you could command them. There was also something about mining ore that I couldn't figure out. At some point, there was a pyramid, or an aztec-style temple or something, and somebody said something about reinforcements. That's where the demo ended.
Any ideas?

Roughly... 20 years ago (LOL! I was 2 :|) I had a game on the Amiga, and I can't remember anything at all about it, other than the fact that in one room, there was a giant ant (giant as in... takes up most of the screen).
I think it had an isometric view (or maybe just top down, though I'm thinking Isometric), and was like... a really hard adventure game. Maybe you were a wizard or a warrior or something. It had decent graphics if I recall correctly. Nice art.
Who knows, it was 20 years ago. I'm not even sure why I wrote this post. I just always wanted to know the name of it. If someone can tell me the name of said game based off such vague details, they win the prize (nothing). Even though I was 2 at the time, I have an amazing memory and would be able to tell instantly upon searching for it if I could find a picture of said ant, which I believe was in the manual.
I remember playing it on the Amiga back with games like Thundercats, North and South, some Garfield game where we kept kicking Odey against the wall for no reason (and he stole your flashlight when you went into the sewers if you weren't careful, making it impossible to progress further), Defender of the Crown, Shadow of the Beast, etc. So yeah, very long time ago.

A wild guess but Fairlight, maybe? http://www.mobygames.com/game/fairlightIncidentally, that's probably the only noteworthy game ever released by EDGE(tm) games.

Hm. Doesn't look familiar at all. It also doesn't seem to have enough colours. I seem to remember the game having an alright colour palette. But, by this stage, I may have fabricated some game in my head over the last 20 years that doesn't actually exist.
But that's a pretty good guess based on the very vague information I have available! I checked out a video of that game and it was hilarious. I love how attacking happens. Just keep walking into something (or be walked into) until one of you dies. lol...

Holy hell. It's the Immortal. That's amazing. I linked it to both of my brothers (both a couple of years older), and there was a collective OMG! from us all.
Thank you kindly!

There's this game I played a long time ago... It featured weird animal-esque creatures with weird powers that you collected and could fight others with them. You could catch them in balls of sorts, and level them up. Also, they made an anime about it. Anyone remember what it was called?

Glad I could be of help. The Immortal is a great game, a shame this genre of adventure is extinct nowadays.
