iPad version is out for almost a month but we are hard at work bringing Shapist to iPhone and Android very soon.



Wonder if I should open another dev log or continue here.. in a mean while i keep posting to touch arcade here (http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=208526).

We haven't decided that part yet, the reason: the maximum puzzle board size in tiles is smaller for iPhone / android... thus we are doing new different levels, not all, we are also adjusting difficulty curve and adding couple of new twists. It couple be that iPad version will just get a pack of new puzzles but stay as it was and iPhone will be a separate one. also new game will be free to try for first 15 levels with 1 in app purchase of the rest.

Here is a small story of how a new icon / 'logo' was designed.
I felt fro the new universal cross platform version that we are cooking we needed new and more colorful logo.

This is how I did it: first I looked at the levels we have done, I am still designing more puzzles, and there will be at least 20% more puzzles compared to iPad version.
I wanted an iconic level that would highlight Shapsit uniqueness for those who played it



(1-2)I picked 4 puzzles, one almost the very first one, and other 3 had each a special type of block in them, be it a spring rotational.

(3) Then I turned them into isometric perspective in Photoshop. Fast and dirty first Smiley

(4) It became obvious that the level with the spring int he middle was exactly what I looked for, so I started to play around with block position within the puzzle.

(5) Finally I composition I wanted was achieved, I made a vector out of it.



(6) Now it was time to experiment on position, background colors etc, I would Photoshop all icons into iPhone screen and later best ones i would move into real device to see.

And  the bottom right one won to be the new icon Smiley

Last few months we have been working hard to make Shapist into the game it deserves to be, universal to platforms, with better difficulty curve, better and more levels, awesome colors and new twists.

Shapist will be coming as a universal app on August 28th.

I don't have a phone that would support this and have no money to buy one so I'll never get to play this ._.
I mean I could get an emulator working, but there would be no touch controls.
Relax though, I'm sure I'm in the minority here when it comes to your user base.

The windows app store would work, but again it looks way more fun to play with touch controls. I'd settle for just click and drag mousy stuff, I guess.

Thank you Christian, just as we mentioned in Email - it is an update for ipad, and ipad users who bought the game get the game fore free, for iphone it will be listed in the store as compatible for the first time, android and other platforms will see Shapist as a new game. We are still deciding on a final price, it will be within the previous range.

Oh hey no worries, sharing is caring and all that. Did you ever take a look at the rotation logic? Gonna install this now on my Samsung SII and have another play since it's been some 6 months!
