I finally made an account just to say how amazing and exciting these initial screens are. Somehow, the gradients elevate it from nostalgia - it's a romanticized version of the pixel style. Imagine if they had done Sonic the Hedgehog in this style!
I don't know why, but lately I can only get excited for indy games. There's something in the current indy scene which is missing from commercial games, with one or two exceptions. It's as though we need to go back to 1989 and re-do the evolution of games again from the point where it started to go wrong.

bril. absolutely after my own heart. Fez looks awesome. I almost hate to say it, but I like the first version of water better than the second one (I'm still missing the gradients tho=) ). streaky bacon in blue? ew! respectA, |
