There should generally be more Vampire RPGs based on the World of Darkness (if that's what it's called) universe. You hearing me Bethesda?

... there should be more WOD inspired games in general. Anyone for a good "Changeling: the Dreaming" RPG  Well, hello there!? (Though I'd rather see "Changeling" as a point-and-click adventure game.)

Anyways, about Vampire. Back in the days I used to play the Masquerade (but no LARPs, sorry) and enjoyed it a lot. What I liked about "Bloodlines" is that it suceeded in getting the gothic punk mood right (unlike "Redemption", IMHO). The characters, the setting, even the music - it all fitted in nicely.

The plot is truly awesome. I still thought it's great after 2,5 times I've been through the game...
...Not playing, of course, but watching TeeGee (2 times) and my brother (0,5 time) play it. My only take on VTMB, was when I wanted to engage in a dialogue with someone at a bar while TeeGee was out of the room. I got the buttons mixed up and slashed the person in half, instead  Cry.

EDIT: Noticed how the Anarchs at the The Last Round bar keep tapping their fingers to the rhytm, while the song already ended? This sight never failed to bring me heaps of joy  :D. I'm a simple person.

It was a decent game, but needed more depth and less breadth/length. Spread itself far too thin. I would find it hard to recommend it to anyone except a fan of hardcore cRPGs, just because it's so unfinished and broken.

(but ah, Troika, we shall miss you)

Why are there not more proper vampire rpgs?  Legacy of Kain was another slice of awesome...

The only one I've played is Soul Reaver, and that wasn't very RPGish.  More like a platformer, or a cross between Tomb Raider and a very linear Ocarina of Time.  Were the other ones (aside from the obvious Blood Omen) different or something?

i meant blood omen: legacy of kain, the original.

Was the one I talked about in my first post. It was a bit like a "lite" Diablo in Singeplayer, but where it really excelled was in multiplayer. Just because it was so Sandbox. It basically was the ideal playground for some vampire roleplaying. And werewolves, if you had the right mods (Within The Darkness was the mod of choice, which added so much more fun stuff, including Werewolves as playable classes, asides from the vampire clans).
I even modded a bit for it. Weapons and items.

i played it through a few months ago. with the patch which adds a whole lot more to it. and i got to almost the very end and stopped. it dragged a bit too much. but the start and just doing all this wicked vampire stuff is sick.
