It seems, it's something like what happened toBatman. Bob Kane came up with the idea, but actually Bill Finger was the one who suggested his classic design, and developed the character. Yet, he is uncredited.
That sounds like the mess with Sonic, where the character was designed by Naoto Ooshima, but the game idea (and thereby a good chunk of Sonic himself) comes from Yuji Naka. It's no wonder people keep confusing the two.
Wrong
Visual design = Naoto
programming = Naka
Game design = yasuhura

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hirokazu_Yasuhara

The games literally had collapse in the hellblivion we know because he was no longer within sonic teams

Naka got credit because he is ambitious and less shy that yasuhara, hence more marketable as a front person, also because none of this would be possible if not his programming tricks.

But the souls was Hirozaku all alongs!

He also works on the jak and daxter series and helpt kicked off the uncharted series, now works at nintendo were we wait for a game proper.

Well, at least we will have a proper 'Sonic game' release this year since the 16 bit era...

Yup, Freedom Planet. Beer!

But everyone knows that the main problem with Sonic games these days is...

the lack of blast processing.    Hand Shake LeftEvil Hand Shake Right

Ooshima did the character designs, he's even credited as such. Naka came up with the original idea of having a character that moved fast, though not the character (which is what I was talking about, not the game design). Yasuhara handled the level design (which yes, is pretty much nearly all of the design in the case of platformers).

And that series would have gone to hell anyway, Yasuhara left because he saw it coming before everybody else.

Backed it on Day 2.

I'm stoked. Been loving the Dev builds on video.

I am curious to know how many 2.5D side-scrolling action games have been made with UnrealEngine

I just checked this thread and there wasn't one Meagre Man joke. Not one. I am disappointed in this thread and myself for not thinking of it until now.

excellent shit. we've gone from pizza analogies to incredible desperation for sex within a scant few minutes all seen through the prism of wanting to protect mega man from cruel internet trolls.
just remembered that this happened hahaha

btw soul sacrifice is actually really good but will probably be forgotten because its on on a system no one has or wants and is not megaman

correction: the game is not "really good", just "kind of ok"
