The Escapists is a prison break game that allows the player the 'freedom' to live the life of a prison inmate, ultimately planning and pulling off an escape.

You'll have to stick to a schedule to avoid arousing suspicion, craft the tools you'll need from stuff lying around the prison (or, instead, steal them), make use of/stay off the radar of your fellow cons and guards, and eventually build your own escape tunnel while keeping it hidden from the people that might reasonably want to cave it in.

The game took 4 days on Steam Greenlight to get accepted, which I'm pretty proud about.

Nice style! I like the contrast between the cute sprites and the harsh setting. Your main character couldn't be more generic though... The "white guy with brownish hair" stereotype isn't that exciting.

This gives me some sort of nostalgia for a game that I can't remember....

I love the art! Keep it up, I actually really want to play this.

Reminds me of the old Commodore 64 game "The Great Escape" except that was set in a POW camp in Germany during WWII.

Will you be able to snitch on people? Sorta to get the guards to be less suspicious of you. Also shivving overly suspect people might be neat.

You have a rep with each guard and inmate that can go up or down depending on how you act.

Getting in good favor with the guards through various means (e.g. snitching) means they'll be a bit more lenient with you. Which will in turn mean the inmates in general think less of you Tongue

Just more or less finished the inventory system which includes a clothes/apparel slot and an equip/hands slot. So yeah if you knock a guard out you can jack his uniform.

When he wakes up in his boxer shorts though things will kick off, that's where duct tape comes in- don't just knock him out, capture him and keep him in the hole under your cell Tongue

I keep looking at this.  It draws my eye.  But I also laugh every time.  I am constantly expecting the peanuts gang, you know, Snoopy, Charlie, Linus, Schroder, Lucy, more of 'em than I can name, to be mulling in that very prison.  I don't know why.  But I do.
