EDIT: It's been massively updated and now consists of 34 parts covering all facets of LibGDX development.  Table of contents is best place to start.

I am about a month into a multipart LibGDX tutorial series, hopefully covering most aspects of working with LibGDX, a cross platform Java based game development library.

The parts are:

Part 1: Creating a project
Part 2: Hello World
Part 3: Basic Graphics
Part 4: Handling Input -- Mouse and Keyboard
Part 5: Handling Input -- Touch and gestures
Part 6: Motion Controls
Part 7: Camera Basics
Part 8: Audio
Part 9: Scene2D Part 1

Or I suppose you could just go to the Table of Contents.

Let me know what you think!

Added a tutorial on LibGDX with IntelliJ, because, well, I hate Eclipse.

Thanks a lot for this. I was actually thinking to try libgdx, but then I wanted some 3D in the project in question so I went for lwjgl. I have found out a lot about libgdx during the selection process and I will use it in future projects for sure.

LibGDX ( for desktop ) is actually layered over lwjgl and now supports 3D.  Just an FYI. Smiley

Also, I've added a tutorial.

This is really great news. Is this some recent event - the 3D I mean?

... wow, apparently I've been at this tutorial series for a very long time...

Anyways, in 2014 I've continued to add several sections to this series including three more parts on Scene2D, a number of posts on working in 3D, from loading a model to animation, a series on Box2D physics, gamepad support, networking, tiled maps, and more.

Instead of linking them all, I'll just link to the Table of Contents.

The series is getting to the point it's larger than many books ( it's 34 parts currently ) and covers almost every aspect of LibGDX.

I've now started doing a video series, starting from the beginning going in to extreme levels of depth.
