Thanks for the good feedback!

Can't wait to show more. We're only 2 months into production part-time. Lots of magic is waiting to be revealed! I'll be posting more behind the scene stuff soonish.

Wow, the visual style is very impressive. Can't wait to see more.

Can you tell a bit more about the 2D->3D conversion?

We're experimenting a lot on lighting right now. Here's an experiment with ambient occlusion. (baked lights)

It's my friend Yan who's making the models based on my 2d illustrations, really fun process! :)I'll show a completed model starting from the early sketches soon.

Awesome! Best looking thing I've seen in a while!
I was going to say you must contact me regarding music but from the sound of that little video, you've got it all covered.

Exciting stuff!

I prefer the one that has less shadows on the objects that are protruding outward. From the other screens it seemed to me you guys were going for a flat graphic style, and the shadows muddy up the designs for me.

Well, it's still looks nice... but I really preferred the 2D concepts to the 3D result.
Cellshading with no outlines maybe?

... but that is mostly psychological. Check my devlog!

Thanks for the comments!

We're testing a lot of stuff with lighting right now so nothing is final. We'll maybe eventually try to make a fully textured, self-illuminated model to see what it looks like.

What we like about lighting and shadows is that it adds a lot of ambiance and mood into the scene.

But we also really like the more illustrated/flat feel, so it's a matter of choosing what's more pleasing/efficient.

I'm not going to be original: the art looks amazing. I'm currently staring very sadly at that 10% icon...  Cry

While I'd prefer to see the 3D look similar to the way the concepts are flat in color and perspective, I'm in love with the look and premise of this game. Amazing stuff!

I have been following this for a few months now and it is looking absolutely gorgeous! Is it all running on an in house engine?
