Based on what was going in the 'scandalous furry emo panda' thread, I was thinking we could try a little experimental role-playing/multiplayer IF game, since the Werewolf Game hasn't been running for a little while.
I'm thinking its rules would be somewhere between TWG, MS Paint Adventures, and Don't Rest Your Head. We would have a certain number of players who play as barbarians exploring a dungeon, and a few more secret walk-in roles for other people.
The players could create their own characters and abilities, within reason, and describe what they want to do in the game (within reason). There would be a simple system that governs all actions that might suceed or fail (i.e. attacks). All such actions would have the same base chance of success (let's say, 50%) but if the action is exceptionally likely or unlikely, the chance might change at the DM's discretion.
It could be fun, or it could be really lame. Anybody else want to give it a go?

Ooh. I want in on this.
I want to dual wield something. Or not. Ohmigod, all these meaningful and interesting choices!
I hope the dungeon has really clever puzzles and traps so that everyone dies at the entrance or so. That would be AWESOME.

I think I'll go with a bow and arrow. Maybe daggers of a scimitar, too.

I'll gladly join. Just make sure (whoever DMs) to draw out the dungeon with all the traps and monsters before we start, so it isn't just made up as it goes. Is more fun that way.

AARRGH, I COULD JOIN QUEST, BUT I, ALEVICE THE CONQUEROR, MUST HAS ADHERE TO A STRICT FORMAT OF ENLISTING THAT ORGANIZER HAS PROVIDED NOT! HOW CAN I, ALEVICE THE CONQUEROR, SHOW UP MY POWERFUL SKILLS WITHOUT FORMAT TO BE GIVEN BY ORGANIZER?!
*a small voice who is certainly not from alevice the conqueror says:*(aka, any particular informal format or restrictions to follow for character creation. also, I wouldn't mind if a few regions of the dunegon layout are made up as the game progresses, as long as they remain consistent. perhaps a minimap of the areas already explored could be shown to keep a relatively easy track of locations)

DRYH is a great game, I'm wondering how it'll influence this one. Also, there's a game called Donjon where the players can say stuff about the story -- it enables players to co-create the story more than the usual model where they just respond to what the GM throws at them. This is a feature of the mechanics, which give you an output in terms of successes. Each success lets you either establish one fact which is worked into the story or add one die to a subsequent roll. Overall success on the roll also affects the story. For example, you’re playing a paladin with the ability to Detect Evil, and you make a roll. If you succeed, there is Evil. You could then use your successes to establish facts about it, like “It’s a group of ghouls” and “They’ve cornered a terrified man”. If a player fails a roll the GM has successes, and these can be used in a similar way. (“One of the orcs finds the Phial of Galadriel and takes it to brighten his cave.”)
