Hi Tigsource! I'm Laurent, cofounder of Permadeath, and this is our first game, Planet Centauri!
Planet centauri is a 2D sandbox RPG with some building and village management, on which we've been working for about 2 years and a half now. You play as a human whose ship was stranded on an unknown planet near Alpha Centauri, thanks to a mechanical failure. Your goal will be to survive through the many dangers of an unknown and hostile world, and find a way back home!
We work hard to offer players a game that will contain a multitude of features that makes our game unique. The game is created with an engine and a library created entirely by our programmer to get the best performance possible (C++)Trailer Suffixes, characteristics and runesWeapons and armor share 7 levels of rarity, higher rarity always coming with stronger, and more unique effects and characteristics. They are also named depending on those characteristics. It is possible for the player to enhance his equipment through forging, and make his gear progress through the 7 rarity levels, sometimes unlocking rare special abilities and effects. Monsters also happen to have rarity levels, rarer monsters being much more powerful and dangerous than their common counterparts, with unique abilities and reinforced stats. An other way to improve your equipment would be using socketable runes, which add stats and effects to your equipments. Runes also come in 7 levels of rarity. Craft your own magic spells! From controlling the arc and pattern of your fireballs to simply enhancing your jumping ablities, craft a plethora of magical effects to fit your desires. Catch them all! Capture and tame monsters!Your new companions will support you and will evolve to become stronger! Each captured creature keeps its unique features, evolving as it gains experience fighting by your side. Agriculture and Cooking"Eat well to get stronger" has never been a more truthful quote than in Planet Centauri. Eating various types of food will cause your character to grow stronger and develop his abilities. Build a village and assign roles and jobs to its inhabitantsSave the native Chlorinians, build and fortify their villages. Befriend them and grant them jobs as hunters, tailors, guards, wizards, researchers and much more! Programmable robotsThanks to the LUA script, you can easily program custom AIs and behaviors for your robots and villagers! Imagination is your only limit! Mining, hunting, defense, exploration, whatever you want! Create without limits with our unique network system!Planet Centauri's network system allows you to design various electronic systems, from humble automated house lighting to frantic death lasers! This is achieved through a large number of electric and electronic components, including : - generators, power wires, resistors, capacitors - noise, serrated, square and sinusoidal signal generators - up to 16 bit information signal, with a large variety of mathematical and binary operators! You can find more detailed information on our network systems following this link : Build your boat and embark on a fishing trip!(Pay no attention to the crew of clones)And more!• Dimensions • Bosses • Mac port • Multiplayer • Themed dungeons • Mystery Biomes • Biomes : oceans • Fluid dynamics • Technology weapons/armor • Quests & Events • Vehicles & Mechs • Modding compatibility • Grapple hook / ninja rope • God Saucer (minigames area) • Tower of 100 challenges • Quests • Pipes • Achievements / Game encyclopedia • Thunder* • Fire (buildings can catch on fire etc)* • Temperature* • Gas dynamics* • Space exploration & combat* • Expolanets • ?? very intriguing! definitely will be watching this.
The backgrounds are beautiful. I wonder how the foregrounds will look like. I do hope that they match well the style of the backgrounds.
Best of wishes to your dev!

Thanks ! We did our best
Seancruz, for foregrounds, it's a tile-based game (16x16) because you can mining in the game /elements of the foregrounds are destructible. You can view in youtube few videos (videos have the old ground) but in a few days i should be able to post a new video with the new tile

New video ! Sorry for quality,it is a mistake on my part.
It will be possible in the game to create your own lot like the game Morrowind. The video shows some possibilities with a standard fireball. Specifically, if we take the example of the fireball, you can determine:
- The number of balls thrown by once - The size of each ball - Speed - If it is guided (either the mouse or the closest monsters) - If the balls through the enemies - If there is explosion on contact - Their movement (turning around to form a pad, the ground bouncing, sliding on the ground, zigzag etc. ...) - Merge the spell with another spell (cumulative effects and possibly visual)
And many other possibilities later.

Wow I'm really impressed by this art style. I've been having trouble with water animations, so just seeing this might help. I'm excited to see some of this art implemented in some gameplay gifs
