Hi, Formicide dev here!

After a whole lot of hard work, the first release of a playable alpha demo of our game Formicide is finally out! Formicide is an intense, 2D, fast-paced multiplayer platformer that was inspired by titles like Quake, Unreal Tournament, Worms, and Liero. You can find the alpha demo right over here.

We have a public server up for people to join in on the fun, but we haven’t yet had time to do extensive testing under high load, and it's quite possible (read: guaranteed) that bugs still exist. We're expecting to have to do pretty regular maintenance. But fortunately, local games can also be hosted from both in the client and from a dedicated server executable found in the install directory.

There’s no account system, so the demo will be forever available and free to play. We’ll be updating it regularly with bug fixes, new art, different weapons and levels, and eventually new game modes. ANT ON!

(Also, we promise that the download page will get a facelift!)
