Hi There,

I'm a fan of 8 bit retro style games as well as rogue likes, puzzle games and RPG from the DOS / NES age.
There are some very nice efforts in terms of retro-style puzzle games on mobile, and I can't really get into the "saga" whatever series, they turn off at a deep emotional level.

I find myself often looking for a puzzle / rpg / dungeon / 8 bit fix so I said, you know what? I'm going do one myself and share it.

I thought about Bloxx Quest for quite a while, but I could only find the time to hack it together recently.

The game is for the moment strictly for mobile, and specifically for Android phones. I may decide to publish on other platforms as well, but for the moment I want a good experience on my phone Smiley

I'm not an artist so to get together the style and the feeling of the game takes a lot of time and I ended up using just free assets around Smiley

I'm working on a cool retro scroller for the credits and the contributions and link to the authors right now.

I'm a big fan of sharing and early testing and prototyping with other people. If you happen to be around in SF drop me a line and I'm more than happy to meet for a coffee / beer / pizza whatever floats your boat.

That said, the game is now on the Google Play store ! Smiley So why 30% in dev? Because that's a bare game, I have multiple features I want to play with but I feel that it's easy to share the game with my friends when I can pass a link to the store, in the end these days it's very hard you'll get any DLs at all without marketing, so it's like a very nice distribution channel ( as opposed to the Apple Store... brrr...)

Without further ado...

For the ones out there that will like to go and grab the current version out there:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crashtheuniverse.bloxxquest

Before you say anything, yes I know, art is not original as many assets, but I want to focus on mechanics first.

If anyone is very serious and dedicated and likes it and wants to contribute do not hesitate to contact me.

Any suggestion/feedback/ideas are very welcome.

I would like Bloxx Quest to be a nice small game that can sit nicely on your phone Smiley Of course it's free for the moment, not even sure I want to monetize it later.

Cheers!

Thank you! The only sounds I have in the game right now is just the intro song. Let me know if you have suggestions for any aspect, given your expertise especially about sounds.

I may look into involving someone for the audio, I would like to have a full list of what music / sfx may be needed first. I'm still making this list now ( for example when you get hit, or when you hit someone, and so on). I'll ping you when this gets closer to a formal list, don't want to waste your time eventually with a lot of small requests here and there Smiley

Thx for your comment, much appreciated.

Cheers!

Hey guys, anyone that wants to help with this game?

I have little time to continue development on this, but if there is any C# coder that wants to pick up it in unity you are welcome.

Alternatively, if there is a very Good designer that can help with level editing and balance or new feature to not make it die, would be cool as well... Because I'm running out of ideas.

Either way, let me know Smiley
