    Hi guys!
    We are Yanim studio, a small indie game studio in Valencia, Spain.
    We're working on an action/adventure game called Red goddess.
    Here is the game trailer! Hope you enjoy it!







We call it psychological adventure game.

Gameplay features:
  • A dynamic and fun "split character" gameplay, you can select a “half” of Divine to play (either rage or fear) and have to deal with the other half.
    The rage and fear sections of Divine also have their own unique skills and abilities, which brings along different gameplay strategies with them.
  • Possession of enemies. As you take over their minds, it’s like walking through a door: you're presented with access to secret new chambers and new things to discover.


  • The whole world has its own personality.
    You have to clean up the darkest zones, infested by the bad thoughts enemies. Blast it all!
    But don't upset the planet, or you could turn your half against you.

This looks really nice and polished.  It wasn't clear to me what the major difference was in entering someone else's mind, at least visually—I guess I expected a hugely-different alternate world as in Psychonauts.... I noticed the hue and framing change, but not much else.  Maybe it should feel more drastic?  Either way, great environments.

As the entire world IS the mind of the main character, Entering the mind of the enemies (enemies are the bad thoughts of the main character) is only to access secret chambers, with puzzles, to find new crystals. Crystals are to unlock new abilities.
So there is not different worlds. Inside or outside the mind of enemies. It's just like Mario entering the green tubes, to access the underground.
But as another game of Double fine, "the Cave", we want to add into the tunnels, very epic, and different environments from the past of the main character. You know, you are in a dark tunnel, and suddenly you enter the bedroom of her childhood.
I hope this is makes sense...

 The whole world has its own personality. It is led by the subconscious of Divine, and don't want her to remember her past. It's alive, aggressive, and will try block your way. The alarm bar is the indicator of the emotional state of the planet. There is many way to trigger the alarm, for example if you move away from  your other half.  Do not worry the alarm indicated on the screen your distance and as you walk away. If you ignore the alarm, the world will attack you.
There is three attacks possibilities: 

  • throwing more enemies
  • the ball turns back against you, transformed into your own enemy (a shadow)
  • Opening traps, or closing doors.

CORE GAMEPLAY FEATURES:
-The game world will be a Metroidvania game style, in a non-linear fashion. From safe towns to dangerous caves and dungeons you must traverse an interconnected world with alternate paths.
-Shoot, Punch or Sneak. The 3 playable characters have their own unique skills and abilities, which brings along different gameplay strategies with them. We are turning combat into a puzzle, the players will find a dozen other ways to use their skills to get past each challenge.
-Explore a mysterious Planet led by the subconscious of the main character. Planet itself, is a character you have to fight and interact (Go to “Planet” section for more information)

Update: game features

CORE MECHANICS:
-Split character gameplay, you can select a “half” of the main character (either rage or fear). The other half is inactive and appears as a ball. You can grab this ball and throw it to: damage enemies, or access out-of-reach areas.
-Enter the mind of enemies. Stunt, and enter the mind of your enemies. As you take over their minds, it’s like walking through a door: you access to secret new chambers with puzzles to solve, and items to loot.
-Unlock Powers. You have to find and collect the crystals of memory to unlock new abilities of the skill tree.
 

THE PLANET:
Explore a mysterious Planet led by the subconscious of the main character.
The whole world is aggressive, and will try to block your way. Fortunately, you have to be detected first, and the Planet can only find you if the alarm bar is full. There are many ways to trigger the alarm:


If you go too far away from your other half
If you are detected by special “eyes” enemies
If you take too much damages in a small time period
If you don't solve puzzles well

Once you’ve been detected the Planet will activate a quarantine area to attacks you. There is many different possible attacks, depending the zone:


throwing more enemies in the area
(in darkest zones) your half turn back against you
opening traps, closing doors
enemies are more aggressives
To off the alarm, you have to exit quarantine area.

The Planet is composed about 2 different zones: neutral zones and darkest zones. Neutral zones are located on the surface of the planet, and early part of dungeons. The Darkest zones, infested by the bad thoughts, are closer to Midboss and Boss. Their air is toxic, and you have to use the rage or fear character to be safe.
 

STORY:
The story revolves around a troubled goddess named Divine. Her mind has become clouded and ill, and Divine is haunted by her past. A mysterious and unknown corruption is tearing her apart from the inside, destroying her mind, her soul, and eventually her, altogether.

Our journey begins when Divine decides to right this wrong by stepping inside of her own consciousness, a planet within her own mind covered in mountains, forests, caves, and untold dangers. Discovering who she is, who she was, and what she’ll become is our quest, but we soon realize that there’s more to this than we thought

Your game looks pretty cool, I'm getting a Trine kind of vibe from it. I really dig on the main characters model, very unique and sleek looking. Went to check out your Kickstarter page and it seems pretty well done as well. Best of luck, hopefully you have plans for a last 24 hours push for the campaign.

We've relaunched our campaign of Red goddess. Now named "Red Goddess: Inner world".

Brawling action meets puzzle platform, combats are turned into puzzles.

The gameplay boasts a couple of original mechanics, such as “split character”, and “enter the mind of enemies”:

Character ball gameplay, you can select only “half” of the main character (either Rage or Fear). The other half is inactive and appears as a ball. You can grab this ball and throw it in order to: damage enemies or gain access to areas that are out of reach.
 
Enter the mind of enemies. Stun your enemies and enter their minds. Taking over their minds is like walking through a door. You will then gain access to new secret chambers with puzzles to solve and lost memories to recover.

Unlock Powers. You will have to find and collect memory crystals to unlock new skills and enter new zones.



Enemies:
Divine’s enemies are her own negative thoughts rebelling against her. She needs to get rid of all of them to be able to unlock the next zone. The dark tunnels hide horrible creatures, followers of Divine´s negative thoughts. Little by little, they are corrupting every part of the planet.
Their bodies are practically all made of black fog.
Some of them can carry a great bright translucent sphere. It is the entrance door to its mind and to Divine´s lost memories. Player must have to touch this orb to enter the mind of the enemies, this is why many of them carry the orb on the back to protect it.



War Golem Boss we want to add with our next stretch goal.
