Liitmeis is a bomberman-like arcade-explorer with minimalistic graphics. The game takes place in a randomly generated underground mine with a different map every time you play. Can be played as singleplayer or two-player couch-co-op.

The result is something much more intriguing
than the usual "walk over there, set a bomb, wait,
set another one, oops too fast dead".

Co-Optimus: Liitmeis does minimalist co-op Bomberman.
Co-Optimus, the co-op games site wrote an article about liitmeis. We are extremely pleased that the 2-player mode gains some fans!

Quote
“Calmer and not as colorful, but no less entertaining.”
“The game can be a much headier experience than its bomb-fueled cousin Bomberman “

Level1: Estonian Indie-Game

Level 1, the Estonian games site experienced the excruciating sadistic game design features to the full enjoyment.

“In Liitmeis you need to develop a personal strategy to survive.“
“Death is certain. That might be because of the sadistic game design Liitmeis features.”

Superlevel: Liitmeis. The sound of Silence

Superlevel checked out Liitmeis and as far as my German goes, they were positively surprised but missed sound effects.

“It is a surprisingly round concept!”

Juicy Edition “shall be released” in May 2014

We are working on pimping up the visuals and the overall feel and juiciness! Most importantly it will go a little further from the minimalistic quiet concept and add more sounds, more textures, more details, more permanence, more destruction and maybe even some creatures and terrain types. The Juicy Edition shall be released in May 2014.

New color scheme mockups

We’ve been wondering if the overall color scheme could be improved to give a less brown feeling to the whole game. Here’s a few mock-ups of some possible solutions.

Green bright ground:

Dark blue:

Teal neon:

Cavinator: New style and name

Since only 1.4 million people out of the 7 billion were abled to say “Liitmeis” without hurting their tongue, we changed the name. After countless hours of brainstorming in the basement with a group of dedicated individuals we (Kaia) came up with Cavinator. So from now on, cavinator it is!

The main style concept changed from ultra-minimalist to cute and eye-y. Here’s a few mock-ups.

RAM overload writes about Cavinator, formerly known as Liitmeis

“It is a well-balanced game that succeeds at giving you that little spark of competitive anger after a neon dragon has dismembered you to bits for the tenth time.”
