OK, I guess this goes here...
/link
So this is a Megaman fangame (I hope I don't get shunned for making a fangame) starring the most popular characters of the Classic Megaman franchise fighting against evil alien 'bots attempting to foster and harvest Dark Energy on Earth. Each one has the power to create negative feelings in humans and robots, which can then be harvested as Dark Energy by destroying the person or robot. Teams Wily, Cossack, and Light each independently try to take down the evil alien robots, although the first segment of the game will (probably) be a mock game in which Team Light battles Team Wily, who is under the alien robot's control, in the style of the original game.
This topic contains more summarized information about the game.

The problem comes in with the fact that all the founders of the game team, including myself, are designers and spriters. We have virtually no programming knowledge, and so far we have been unable to find a programmer. We have plenty of sprites done, although we do still need a background spriter or tileset spriter, as well as music, though that is unimportant right now. Again, we really, really need a programmer who can create a sidescrolling/platformer fighting game engine.

Oh and tell me if you need to join to see the site, because that's a problem I think I fixed...

Try using gamemaker. If you need a platforming engine, go there

There are lots of good examples you might use and learn from. There is a very primitive tutorial for a simple platformer on the yoyogames site, which I recommend you use first, then modify and enhance to suit your game. If you do this on your own,IMO, there is a better chance you'll finish the game because you will understand the engine and it's tools.

Take this with much more than a grain of salt.

And 64digits is a great resource.

At first I wasn't interested in this until I read the gameplay section. I love fighting games and I'm sure characters from Megaman series would make a great fighting game Smiley

You should put up some screenshots on your website. I can't seems to find any! Also, looking forward to the game release :D
