firstly it's prob best in the future to just do a gif of the animation for feedback purposes
secondly: probably color her hair in for the run cycle? come on, that's like basics. sorry if that's mean, but it would have taken maybe an extra two minutes total before integrating it
thirdly: sure the run cycle is fine, maybe make the up/down bounce just a tiny more pronounced? for a pixel thing this simplified and small there's not much to screw up, i think, so as far as i'm concerned this looks good and fine.
i like the rainbow jets.

I am going with an outline theme so hair will be a bit out of the theme. Gonna work on the bounce(1-2 pixel more) thanks for the feedback

tried to animate a person for the first time. it was fun to work on but its an extremely slow and tedious process.

Looks great except the fact that things accelerate as they fall

Agreed, and the cat wouldn't fall spread out like that. It'd fall stretched toward the ground, with its front paws ready to absorb its impact, I think. Cool animation, though!
@JaJitsu - Haha, funny.

Crossposting from our devlog, where Schilcote said the same thing: you're right; initially I liked it because it gave her kind of a floaty, "look how cool I am while I'm doing this" ninja feel, but we're definitely gonna add some acceleration and see if it doesn't click better. It might just seem like an animation point but it's really a character point, too, so that's gotta be pondered through. Tx for the feedback, folks!

Hey people. So here's a sped up animation process video I've recorded of an angel we'll be using in-game (rough animation only for now). It's made in Toon Boom and the original was about 4 hours long; it's time-compressed and edited down to 7 minutes. Enjoy!

Awesome stuff Mr Underhill. That looks rather time consuming and tedious, but the result is quite cool.

Thanx Lstro! Here's the most recent rough I've worked on. Still has a few kinks to iron out, and no process vid on this one

^ very smooth, however it could do with some secondary/overlapping animation on the ears when he sits down, right now the ears are just straight tweening to your key poses.

So much good stuff here! @Prodigga Looks like "another world" stuff, pretty original 3D style @Gagz9k I specially liked this paul robertson-ey style of animation. I believe those extra exagerated movements really make things flow in a game And by the way Any tips on learning to do explosions and effects like that? The flat colours on such a fluid animation looks amazing. What kind of reference do you take? I hope to see that one finished. This is one animation for a game I'm currently making with my pal:
