The latest iteration of my character. This is pretty close to what I'm going to use as a reference for a sprite.

the thing that annoys me about this picture and I didn't realise it before I finished it is that I got the red hand on the wrong side... oh well enjoy!

Really eerie ... Looks like she is hiding some shrunken heads or something. Would add a lot to the atmosphere if there was more play with lighting using darker shadows and bumping up the saturation of the eyes. I dig it, very cool.

I still can't get that manga look. I think I need to work on my eyes.

I think I need to work on my eyes. personally I think you should look at some refrences of different styles and anatomy that should help with creating your manga style. Or alternatively you can look at low poly video game models that could help you get the little chibi like look you are looking for.

@boreal: the best way to draw anime (or anything really) is to take a /really/ close look at actual things drawn by good anime artists, and study them (eyes, noses, ears, anatomy); replicate pieces if you have to
tho tbh i would avoid learning how to draw from anime; many anime artists commit very egregious mistakes and you'll prob end up pigeonholing yourself into a very limited artistic corner. and at any rate the best anime artists have solid traditional art backgrounds so GO STUDY THAT too

Yeah I completely agree I know quite a few artists that do that, and now stuck doing the same thing over and over again its quite dishearting to see but all you can do is help them and push them in the right direction. but as I said before get some references and stuff and you should be fine

Thanks We still dont much how we gonna use it For the moment it's kind of non animated props for background For shadows , i dunno , i'm kinda afraid now of using dark shadows , i try to avoid them as much i can I think i used them too much (if i understand well your words )

Don't worry, I'm not just drawing anime. I've been studying human anatomy as well.

anime = human anatomy, in fact that's the less stylized part of anime if you discount super deformed and even the head make more sense once you study actual head.
However I would say my standard answer, start with proportion and volume reporting, anything else come from that.

There are a few things I'll need to fix. The right arm, better the foreshortening a bit on the left arm, and work the torso between the Ribcage and Thighs.
