[Zest]

All right, so these are three things I'm working on, more or less simultaneously. All WIP, obviously.

First up is the last bit of character design for Commedia Dell'Arte: The Game- Colombina!



I'm not happy with her mask right now. I'm gonna add some extra bits to it, but I don't think the colors work with the rest of her outfit. I meant for her shirt to complement Arlecchino's wardrobe, since she is his counterpart.

My old shoes are falling apart, so I decided that I was going to customize my next pair.

There's some stuff on the back, too, but I'll just wait until it's done to show all of it. I'm wanting to fill the shoes with all of the things that have influenced me and my work. I also had a sort of symmetrical design going on for a while, but I don't think I'll be able to keep it up for much longer.

Lastly, I'm designing my own version of the Katamari Damacy cover, partly as an excuse to try digital painting, partly as a package design challenge, and partly just because.

I just finished painting the King of All Cosmos today, but I'm pleased with how it's all turning out- I'm definitely going to be printing out a copy for myself.

JaJitsu, I'm surprised you were able to recognize those so quickly!

Thanks a bunch, Masna! I feel that Maus had a huge impact on me. I never really got into superheroes, so I mostly read the licensed Disney/Cartoon Network Comics and (yuck) Archie. So when I picked up Maus in the 5th grade, it completely blew my mind. It probably helped that my rabbi recommended it (we were studying the Holocaust in Sunday School at the time), but the books were unlike anything I had ever seen before.

There was another graphic novel that I picked up in elementary school (I'm planning on adding a tribute to this on the shoes as well), called City of Light, City of Dark. I adored it, but has anybody else read it?

A silly little test. Do download and loop instead of just watching it once (actual tiling!?) Oh, and it's 10 megs for ~eight seconds of video. I really have no idea what codec is the best to use for videofiles...

use .h264 with .mp4 file format for web. .mov is alright if you're not worried about size though.

I actually bought all white shoes and colored in the black in with sharpie.

This is for our ongoing pixel grapple-platformer, Liferaft. WIP! wanna add lanterns to play up the drama/contrast on her face and a larger sense of depth/bottomless-pit style. Also, i'm still unsure about the logotype...
