Hello, first time posting here Tongue
There are very good works in this thread! Very inspiring.

This is the last illustration I've made for the game I'm developing with a friend. This one is to introduce the final boss from world#2. There will be like 25 more or less, so more to come! Smiley

really cool man! very nice values, but the colours could use some work. having more hue varition on the skin would help a lot.

Delicious - Cool design! Would love to see what the rest of him looks like. It kind of feels like the chin is pointing somewhat to the right while the nose-hole Smiley is pointing more towards the left. Might define the shape of the face even more. Haha, I really like that creepy smile.

stickadtroja - A lot of character in those eyes, very nice! Kind of just waiting for a troll to emerge from the darkness in the background. I don't know if it is just because I am swedish but there is something special about Bauer-ish woods like that! Keep up the goos work!

minnow - Saw the turn table of the boat just awhile ago. Probably my favorite boat at the moment. Looking forward to the rocking!

Two years ago, when I was in high school, I took a yearbook class my junior and senior year. My girlfriend was the editor, so she let me do whatever the hell I wanted during class. I was always bored so I spent hours in MS Paint, just drawing anything. I did dozens of drawings and I got pretty good! I just found a few that I had e-mailed to myself. There are at least 50 more out there, but I can't find them.

Here we go, MS Paint art from my 16-17 year old mind...

Thanks guys. Smiley
Definitely gonna take those points into consideration. I think I'm done with it though, was really just a boring quick painting for practice. However I'll look out for those criticisms next time.

I really liked the armor before this. It seemed haggard and strung together like she came from a warrior people that are tough but light on resources and just have to make do. I'm not sure what your going for but I thought the steps before the clean up were more original. I also thought the previous composition was great before the crop. Still really like those trees.

PaintOver:

@ stickadtroja: I love the color and atmosphere in this! I hope you don't mind , I did a quick paint over to illustrate some suggestions I have with changes to the lighting and rendering on the character.I love how brilliant and shining the characters face is, I think it should be reflected on to the other colors nearby more especially the red.  I also added in more shadow to help simplify the form and moved the arm back a bit since it was looking a bit crowded. I would also let the environment reflect on her armor a lot more it helps set her in the space a bit better! I think just mixing in some colors from her environment, especially on her red cloth will help pull her into the scene better. I really love the piece I hope you keep working on it. I could almost see little eyes or silhouettes of monsters creeping up from within the trees!

mankoon: hmm i was kind of aiming for a woman-knight, wanted to make that shiny armor. im not sure though maybe your idea would have worked better. about the croping; that was just to show it off here, i still have the trees and everything in the original. thanks for the crits anyways!

nate kling: thanks a lot for the paintover! i really appriciate it!
its very easy to notice how different we render things. mine is WAY flatter than yours, i really like your shadows and sense of depth. i will try to do things more like yours, not to be so afraid of using heavy shadows or sharp highlights. overall your values is much better than mine, much more realistic, and its what i felt is most lacking in my paintings. number 1 on my things-to-learn-list now.

the colours however i dont agree with as much. the red part mostly. i DO see that yours has a more realistic tone to it, but i like the contrast mine has with the green/yellowie background. will probably aim for something in between and see how it works out.
