Oh man there is so much awesome stuff happening in this thread right now. Looks rad, everyone! @Hempuli really love the blue in that, and the watercolor look in general. I decided to do a drawing a day this year. On day 5, hopefully I can keep it up.

I really dig the sense of isolation in your art, Jack.

Playing around with style, wish I'd spent more time on the foreground. Would like to do more of these + get regular studies going, this laptop is reasonably awful for it though :D

I really like the first one Kinnas. Also, I really like the high saturation red you've got in the shadows there. I'm still relatively a beginner at this art business, so would you mind explaining your decision to include that high saturation in the shadow?

I don't think I ever really consciously decided to go with the red, it's basically intuition, in fact I don't remember doing it : D I suppose it comes from how the red is complimentary against the blue-green-purple going on around the face and I kinda like doing these stark colour plays. Also the creation process was more in line of doing a drawing and then editing it colourful (instead of a more traditional painting it straight up), guess during the process the black of the drawing felt a bit too oppressive and I wanted to lighten it up but also hue-wise throw it up against the dominant overtones for contrast.
Another train of thought on that is that it suggests subsurface scattering through the nose, not logically for current viewangles/lighting, but just the general idea - that's the area around the face where it tends to appear. In fact now I'm surprised at myself that I hadn't reddened the fuck out of her ear for instance (and between her fingers) though that's probably for the best, seems like shit would get tacky real fast. I used to have serious art-student-red-nose-syndrome and it still tends to act up sometimes.

Gentlemen, What command do I have to use in order to make my drawings smaller when I post in the forum? Is something like [size]link[\size] (Side note: I've already asked this before... but couldn't find the page in which you guys replied... sorry... I promise to not forget again )
