It's not linking because you're linking to your Deviantart page that the picture is on, not the picture itself.
To link to your picture using Deviantart, hit download, then right click on the window that pops up, hit properties, then copypasta the link.
Still, you shouldn't host your stuff on Deviantart. Use one of the many other image hosting websites out there.

John, let's be welcoming to new users, okay? I for one really like it! You've definitely captured the gesture of the pose well. I would suggest, however, adding contrast to the gun. As of now it sort of blends in with the figure. Other than that, nice work! I would like to see more from you.  |

Yeah, like Masna said, your work is pretty good. Hands are solidly done, but it's difficult to make out the left side of his face.
Small niggle: rotate it before you host, so that folks don't have to turn their heads to look at it.

playing with how i should probably do colour  shading is a bit off on some parts way off on others You got the warm/cool down but you mixed the saturation. the highlights should be saturated and the shadows desaturated. If you change the peach to more orange, and desaturate the purple it will look more normal. |

I dont have any traiditional training, but AFAIK you have the regular colors be well-saturated, and the shadows as well as the highlights desaturated. The more glossy an object is the closer the highlights are to the color of the light source (and vice versa for matte).

That's fine. I just turned up asking a bunch of noobie questions so I'm the one that looked like an ass. And you answered my questions, you didn't do anything wrong. Thanks for the advise, guys. @ Landshark, I like the thickness of his neck piece I think it'd be cool if you could add that to the rest of his armor. |
