I did something similar a long way back:

You'll notice that the hills are composed of a single line drawn from left to right through the frames.

I don't know how well this qualifies as art, but I played around with CSS3 gradients to produce a new website look, without using a gigantic background image:

Here's the real deal. Webkit (Chrome) doesn't implement outline-radius yet so it doesn't look quite right, and Internet Explorer shits all over itself (surprise!). But I really like the premise here; Nice effects without megabyte-sized image files.

That background's all done with CSS?

That is cool as hell; reminds me somewhat of Dave Stewart's colour work on BRPD. The title and chapter copy needs knocking forward a bit, though; that fuzzy white corona doesn't really lift nor incorporate. I'd err on the side of popping it up a little; maybe try a solid white outline, or a tone for the lettering itself that contrasts more with the rest of the scene's palette.

If you wanna know the truth, the shadows are all one layer- they're almost all dark blue with Multiply on and about 70% opacity. The shadows in the bottom panel are slightly lighter and less saturated to let the inks show better.

Toom, I'll definitely try that. The lineart was all on one layer, so I'm trying to do my best to not mess with it too much.

Yeah I didn't see that link, checked it out. Pretty awesome stuff.

What's the difference between webkit-radial and moz-radial? Or are they a pair?

This is really useful.  Corny Laugh

Learning how to use inkscape. First vector piece, potentially for a game.

Since CSS3 isn't "official" yet, and there isn't a consistent implementation across browsers for what CSS3 we are using, the webkit- and moz- prefixes just designate Webkit's (Chrome, Safari) and Mozilla's (Firefox) implementations of certain CSS3 properties. So the webkit- ones just get ignored by Firefox, and the moz- ones just get ignored by Safari, etc. There might be some small differences in the way they are implemented, but for the most part, as far as the user is concerned, they are identical.

Void's pretty BAMF, if you join we should totally battle. I like the costume on this guy.

Speaking of Void, I participated in their Gender Swap Art Jam and redrew my bro monk Leland as a girl.
