on a somewhat related note, kids on deviantart do not like it when you do anything other than mindlessly fellate their egos
they'll either get extremely defensive and call it their 'style'
or they'll brush you off and claim that they 'werent trying'
the joke is that all this does is showcase how completely insecure they are
this makes me sad
so i think i'll host my images on tumblr or something from now on
...i guess i just want to say how much i appreciate all the critiques from you folks here at tigs. it's helped me grow immensely over the past few days, and i feel much more aware of my flaws in general, and what areas i need to focus on.
here's to self-improvement!

Yeah, I think a lot of people who aren't as experienced at art find it hard to realise that when people critique their work they aren't making personal attacks: They're judging the art not the person.

That and perhaps because most of us are game designers we might be more familiar with listening critic and learning from it. IMO game design teaches one to listen critic very well, since it is so integral part of game design. It still is big obstacle for new/young developers too.

Doodled on iScribble a while back, I was going to post it before but forgot. I don't often use heavy amounts of yellow so it was a fun little change of pace.

Ooh, lovely palette you've got going on here. I joined Pottermore a little while ago, and was soon sorted into Hufflepuff. I didn't really know anything about the house except for the handful of jokes from Very Potter Musical, but once I started reading about the common room I was won over. So, I was inspired to draw myself chilling out in the Hufflepuff Common Room. A little while after, one of my friends joined Pottermore and drew our characters together (you should check out more of her art, it's totally fab). In response, I drew this:

Pottermore
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=pottermoreI'm kind of interested in it too, now, though I've never been a huge fan of Harry Pooter.
