Explanation: Working on a game concept where Mushrooms can be gathered to produce healing potions. The faintly-luminescent fungi gives off a soft blue glow which is especially visible underground or after nightfall. As a mechanic, this means that when players are most likely in dire need of mushrooms (stronger enemies are nocturnal or dwell in caves), they are more easily visible.
Of course, you occasionally bump into an enemy like this guy, a being who's mud-and-muck form provides the ideal conditions for mushroom growth. Those who venture into bogs, swamps and marshlands would do well to carefully check each mushroom patch first.
