I'm making a mining game where you get resources via planetary bombardment, and use the stuff to buy bigger bombs. I'm not really sure I've got enough time to make it work though, so I'll have to do a bit of thinking to see if I can turn it into something "complete".

Mine is a 2D submarine game where you have to find gold. I actually expected a lot of submarine, Acquaria, Ecco-the-dolphis and likes of it. What's important is to be satisfied with what you do.

My game apparently involves a Snake with pseudo-physics now. Cool moving GIF - but it contains spoilers!I have no idea how that happened. Honestly. It was not the concept I started out with, haha. The movement rules are: - When the head isn’t resting on the floor or another snake part, the head will move downwards.
- When the snake isn’t touching the floor anywhere, the whole snake falls down.

Does anyone else feel like their game is absolute shit until they add graphics, in which it suddenly increases in magnificence by 10,000? (I don't have graphics yet but I often feel that way)

Of course, I have barely anything done cause I suck.
Hey, at least you're doing it. Weekends are the busiest part of my week so I've never managed to do a game jam/compo. I had really hoped to do it this time (came up with ideas for most of the final 20 themes and everything) but then at the last minute it turned out to be a really busy weekend and I haven't gotten to touch it. Tell me your ideas guys.
My idea for Beneath the Surface was to do a half-assed simulation of how muscles respond to exercise (aerobic/anaerobic) and food (carbohydrate/protein/fat) and do a side-scroller about a runner in training. Choose your meals, go out and run, lift weights, enter races. Basically turn-based except for the running bit. Ah well. Maybe I'll do my own personal 48hr thing later in the week. But probably not. Just not the same. --Josh

I'm making a diving game, where you have to go as far down as possible while managing to dodge the fish down there. The longer you stay underwater the less air you have. Conserve air and try and go as low as possible!

My graphics are always shit, so no. However, I do always feel a lot more positive about it when I have the major gameplay mechanics implemented.

I don't really like the theme this time... So many people are going to choose mining or diving games. It's just too obvious.

And...done! Coin Diver, my entry for Ludum Dare 29!It's a lot more simplistic than the sort of stuff I usually make...but it's great fun, so I guess simple is okay too every once in a while.

I also made an underwater game I didn't have any awesome original ideas, so I came up with something simple I could do in Unity, as I haven't had much practice with it. I learned things I guess!?!? You look around the bottom of the sea looking for your lost treasure, and avoiding hideous sea monsters that will charge at you if you move around while they are alerted to your presence, avoid looking at them or getting too close. If you alert them, don't move, just wait for them to swim away. Nereids' Sea

Thanks man! It's inspired by my bad luck with pets. I'd tell you, but you already know half of it.
