So what do the new spike shoes do? I bought some and then foolishly jumped on spikes to see if they'd protect me. Do they increase jump damage?

Speaking of which, has collision detection been tweaked? Maybe I'm just doing better than usual, but it seems a lot easier to jump on monsters now, almost too easy.

Another damsel squishing bug:

I jumped from the red circle to the blue one, trying to get at the gold bars. The damsel in my hands exploded against the corner.

The first thing I did when I booted up the new version was play with the level editor. Having beaten the game a few times, I had access to everything.

Some of the things I saw scared me.  Tired

EDIT: Some interesting bugs that result from mixing map types in the level editor:

A Spider Web place directly above an icy block will have no effect.

If you are using a drop-platform to go down, you will not be hindered by webs.

Great, a new version. I played it for a while and it's improved a lot more than I expected. Especially the third area seems far better, it doesn't have constant leaps of faith anymore.

I found one oddity, although I forgot to take a screenshot of it. There was a pay girl next to an idol, yet there wasn't a store anywhere near her. I couldn't purchase a kiss, but I got the thief text when I picked her up.

I am genuinely excited to find all this new stuff.  I just got the "Rushing water" scenario and was wondering what it could mean, then I got to the bottom of the level.  "Oh, that's pretty neat," I thought.  "I wonder if there's anything elOH SWEET MERCY NO"

Uh, sounds won't play for me. The title screen music also plays very softly in comparison to game play music.

I notice the lack of crates in the level editor. what's with that? maybe I should actually play a few regular rounds, see what happens. lots of stuff is missing, yes I still have lava/water and the image sets for all 4 areas, so I dunno what's wrong. no enemies either.

This new version has convinced me to register for the forums. Hi!

It seems the dames are giving a lot of trouble. Typical. Here's another bug with them: When holding a dame and using the rope button (s), the rope apparently smackes her in the face. She gets stunned and drops. This happens even when hanging from a rope already, so it's not the drop that stuns her, it's the action itself. There's no such problem with the bomb key.

I haven't won yet, but I'm really enjoying the game. Here's a tip I haven't seen mentioned: if there's an arrow trap right next to a ladder, you can trigger the trap by climbing so just Indie's hat is in front of it. The arrow will shoot out over his head, and you can continue safely. Still gotta watch out for those bouncy arrows, though!

Third area is all kinds of awesome now.

Bug: I'm playing with X4 resolution and full screen (monitor resolution is 1440x900). I can barely see the compass. The image is resized, for the record.

GeneralValter: Try playing with the volume sliders at the startup screen.

Oh, that reminds me!  In general, there is an issue with physical location and corners, at least in 0.98 (I have yet to replicate this in 0.99).  When I have the ability to see gems inside the ground, if there happens to be a gem in a block right at a sharp corner (like at the top of a skinny vertical column with nothing else on either side), I can sometimes pick up the gem just by bumping into the corner correctly.  I don't know what "correctly" is, but I don't believe I have to be specifically trying to grab the ledge or anything for it to happen.

I imagine that your damsel issue is related, what with the corner impact and the known "death-from-getting-stuck-in-solid-matter" deal.

I died from a two block high drop whilst carrying a damsel.

She also keeps exploding when grabbing edges.

Arrows seem to take away two health now?
