While running on top of a stopped boulder while holding an idol, I tripped and died. :| Did not trip without the idol but consistently tripped with it.

Things I would like in the level editor:
The interconnected levels (already acknowledged and accepted)
Exclusive equips/weapons that aren't in the actual game. Would be useful with the above, since we could reward secret hunting.
Alternate means of gaining health. Similar reason to the above.

I'm working on a batch file to save the registry entries to a file and them restore them, for a semi-quick solution for thumb drive people. Still kind of clunky but it might be better than nothing. Comments? Would be useful?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this bug since 0.99.5.. When you drop a block (from pushing it) onto a stack of three gold bars, the bars pass through the block to the top of the block.
As a related suggestion, shouldn't EVERYTHING a block drops on be destroyed? Gems, gold, whatever.

Playing the level "Zelda," this bug is most apparent.
I am fighting the giant spider, and we are both against the wall, and I am bouncing on top of him. Logic says that if we're both against the wall and I just sit there hopping on him, I should win the fight without getting hurt. However, sometimes the spider jumps higher than normal and the bounce on his head doesn't register, so I end up getting hurt anyway. I think I clipped underneath him too, don't remember though.
Anyway, just an observation.

When holstering an item or weapon (such as a shotgun in my case) to a bomb and then falling flipstyle off a cliff in order to force a drop, said weapon or item disappears, permanently. I lost my shotgun too (Luckily it was in the Black Market, so I had a good supply)

More ideas! Remote controlled bombs. Skill books. New talents for out intrepid hero! IE: Throwing ropes sideways, to make a bridge. Improved whip talents (Indiana Jones style grappling, perhaps?). faster gun reloads. And of course a new appropriate themed store.

I think a way to make custom ending rooms for a series of levels might be nice. So, for instance, Helm's Deep could have a nice end, with something that actually fits the level's theme... rather than how it is now. I've not seen the code, so I don't know how hard that'd be, of course.

Hmm... Okay, so I made a level with a spider waaaay on the other side of the room. When it gets on view it's already hopping about in the little pit I created along with a snake. I fall from the top into the pit (with spring shoes) onto the spider, and in one hit, it's dead. I conducted tests to see if the spring shoes killed them in 1 hit, but they didn't. Why was it so low on health already? Oh, and in my tests, the spelunker played the bounce sound a LOT whenever he bounced of the big spider but only seemed to do a small amount of damage. (When the 1 hp thing occurred I had v.99; in the tests I had 99.5. Any difference there?) Oh, and still addicted EDIT: Oh, Never mind. Redownloaded .99 and in it the spring shoes do kill the big spider in 1 hit. Too bad that's gone in .95-- that would be cool to have, but a bit too powerful.

The Wiki is something like a spoilers file. If you don't want to know how to get to the City of Gold then don't read it.
Same deal with books and movies on Wikipedia. If you go there hoping they won't discuss the details of the surprise ending, you're in for a surprise. (two of them)

Being able to erase the boundaries, to create bottomless pits and perhaps even exits? I'd like to make dropping in a pit lead to a new room.

It may be better to post simple instructions for running Spelunky under PortaLaunch/JauntePE/Registry Rapper/X-Launcher, that may be simpler for users?
