Anybody got this working on Windows 7? I hear talk of gamemaker disliking Nvidia cards or something so maybe a driver upgrade is in order.
Anyone? I love this game but I dislike turning on my desktop.
It runs for me (Win 7, Nvidia 9600 GT) but I think the combo of Spelunky and Win7 creates a memory leak somewhere because it slows down progressively as I play and I have to eventually restart. The biggest slowdown is in the score room. I'm thinking memory leak because the slowdown seems to pile up over time.

I'd really like it if you could somehow prevent the rolling boulder from making Kali angry when it hits her altar which I didn't know about.

My little sister started playing this today too, and loves it! My little brother had some suggestions, but it's mostly him whining about not being able to kill the shop owner and get away with it always. Also, are you purposely supposed to walk through the spikes? I understand if you're supposed/can, as the sides aren't entirely spikey... Anyway, continue with the game! Can't wait for version 1.0!

You can change your play style (boulders roll left or right according to where you are, so lure them to explored and safe areas), or use a bomb/ rope before getting the idol. Of course, the optimal solution is to explore first, plunder later.

It's sometimes rather annoying when you're trying to do a speedrun, decide to get some easy money and don't realize that there may be an altar in the area you haven't explored.

I really hate how shopkeepers will get angry at you if ANYTHING hits them.
And walking through spikes is probably on purpose, and makes sense too. You are just walking on the side of them, like a normal person would.

The spikes are only dangerous when falling into them from high enough. Just jumping in a spikey area doesn't kill you. (unless you have spring boots)

I've thought it for a while, but today I felt like posting about it! The pickaxe seems relatively useless considering how fast it breaks.
Maybe have a "special" pickaxe that doesn't break? Maybe a golden one (kind of like the tools in Animal Crossing). That would be pretty neat, and very useful.

Golden picaxes would be EASIER to break. And I don't find a problem with limited picks. It's useful for the time it works/

I think there should be a limit on how fast it can break. It's TERRIFYING when you get a pickaxe from a snake pit and it isn't enough to get you away from there!

1. Agree. D: It's no good at all when it's not your fault. 2. I'd say walking -through- them (i.e. weaving between them or something) because otherwise you'd just JUMP to the side of them, wouldn't you? (Not like the wording really matters -- I think it is very nice that you can walk through spikes and drop into spike pits and all that!)

found a bug that was weird and no one has found it prob but anyway:
if you throw a sticky bomb on a scarab then collect the scarab with the bomb you get an error and the game crashes! i know its a weird bug but i collected it to make the bomb drop on an unsuspecting shopkeeper,if was near him so i collected it hoping for the bomb to drop and land. i think it may be 100% reproducible but im not sure since i dont want to try it again. the error message was:
ERROR in action number 2 of End Step Event for object oBomb:
Error in code at line 3: x = enemyID.x-stickyXDiff;
at position 18: Unknown variable x
i know its not a big deal but i was quite annoyed when i discovered it lol

Haha, there used to be a bug that kept the pickaxe working after it broke. You could just grab the handle after it breaks, and the pick would magically reappear as soon as you swung it next.
