Interesting bug: I had a bow with 3 arrows, then I found a crate with 8 arrows, and suddenly the other bow was reloaded. Also it seems that the bows use the same arrows, so shooting one with one makes the other lose an arrow too.
This is a little confusing. Crates don't have arrows in them, to the best of my knowledge. Also, the "version history" back in version 0.99.9 said "Each bow now gives the player 6 arrows." -- the player simply has an arrow inventory. Could this make sense of what you saw? Plus . . . use the new website's forum! It is happy and convenient!

I hacked the bomb value, and with my G11 programmable key, i throw like 20 bombs/seconds, while running. And god moded. so yeah, i just bomb up the whole levels, and since explosions of bombs make the other bombs spread in the level, after some seconds of hardcore firework, my body finally get back on floor, in a pool of gold and diamonds.
I like it =)

Has anyone got the big alien on the altar since me, a long while back? I'm interested in what the 'ultimate reward' was for that. If it was ever included...

I think he might have hit the jackpot this time, actually. Aquaria was okay. Braid and Passage and Cave Story and all that stuff people have raved about, they were pretty good too.
But Spelunky feels different. It feels like a proper classic; like all-time top ten material. It's a fucking good game. And now I have a new addiction problem to deal with.
I agree. I played the Aquaria demo and although it looks a lot better Spelunky kicks its ass in the fun department (no offense of course!) One of Derek's other game called Eternal Daughter was fun but much too hard IMO. What's better is that now that Spelunky is getting picked up for XBOX, it gives other indie developers making freebies some hope that they too can potentially make some $$ on a project they originally had no intention of ever selling. (I assume). I know personally it's inspired me.

It really is incredibly addictive. I get in my Spelunky moods and play it over and over. Even though I suck at it, and have only gotten to the Ice/Alien level once. So many deaths, so few wins. But, I don't care. It is the second best freeware Indie game I have ever played. Glum Buster tied with Knytt Stories (neither one deserves second best) are much better.
But man oh man, the first music track that plays for the beginning levels gets on my nerves something awful. Well, I loved it at first but after a million deaths I suppose I just got tired of it.

See the music never got on my nerves like some other people. I guess when you're used to playing games like Hydlide for the NES it makes Spelunky's soundtrack akin to Mozart.

I've enjoyed all of Derek's games so far, but I must say that I enjoyed Eternal Daughter a lot more than Spelunky. They're not totally comparable of course, but the 'epicness' of ED made it so much fun. And dagnabbit boys, you're playing a game like Spelunky and say that ED is hard? WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS POINT OF VIEW? Especially the final few bosses of ED are so much fun. Go Baphomet!

I'd actually say that Eternal Daughter is much harder than Spelunky. ...Largely because Spelunky simply isn't meant to be played in the same way; it's actually intentional that you make hundreds of unsuccessful attempts. Six hundred failed attempts at Eternal Daughter would kill you. Really actually kill you.

Maybe not for you. It is for a lot of people or else no one would ever mention that it's hard. Or would they? Ho ho. but yes, it's hard. but so is spelunky. stop giving hard a negative connotation. there is nothing wrong with a difficult game.

No, he can't, at least not until they get the XBLA version done. The original game was done in Game Maker, which has no porting features as far as I know.
