Oo, I just played all the way from L5 up to the L16 boss. I realise that is way behind the curve for some people, but considering I'm only 200 games in and haven't even opened up the second tunnel yet, I though that was a pretty good effort...
Nice. Area 2 is my favorite; starting from Area 1 just seems to make make the game drag on...maybe because I've played it too many times...

I speedran Spelunky v1.0b in 4:57 without angering shopkeepers. Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fnr71RAK2CwHad no luck at all, the only good item was a jetpack, and I had to fight for it. This video is the first in a series of sub-5min runs, because I'm going to upload as many speedruns as I can.

I haven't recorded that 3:44 run, but I haven't been particularly lucky so I'll be able to reproduce or beat it later on camera. This screenshot isn't even taken immediately after that run. Summary: I stole a damsel from a kiss shop in Area 1, stole a jetpack in Area 2, got a shotgun from an angry shopkeeper that was guarding the exit of the next level, got Scepter in Level 13, had 8 bombs and 4 health for the boss. Only angered shopkeepers twice, had no dark levels.

I don't have the patience for something like this, plus I am so awfully horrible at this game, I'll just go back to chipping away at developing my current game.

Bug report!: Throwing a dead damsel into lava changes her into a dazed/nondead damsel.

Two things that I find bug-like... Unlike the Spelunker, the damsel can get hit away and die when she is doing the leaving level animation. It's kind of weird an upsetting. You see her going into the door and you exit with her... The totem trap thing from the 2nd world triggers and hits the damsel away but you continue to exit the level. Then on the next screen the damsel is there all fine and gives you a kiss (does what it should do). So the fix would just to be to make her invincible when she is exiting the level just as you did it for the Spelunker.
Secondly... Pressing the action key on the play level screen (F3) gives you the win screen. It's annoying when you fail a level and you're hitting action to get back to the menu then you have to stop hitting it and hit enter or you'll have to sit through the 10 seconds of the win screen before you're finally back. Would be good if pressing action on the F3 screen either did nothing or did the same thing as pressing enter.
EDIT: And I forgot to say... Great game! I'm absolutely loving it. Keep up the good work.

Hasn't happened to me, I've gone through an arrowtrap-next-to-door several times in v1.0, but this hasn't appeared.

I haven't been able to play this game yet cause whenever I try to open Spelunky it says: Spelunky has stopped working. Windows is trying to find the solution. Then it says: Spelunky has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I'd love to know how to fix this. I have tried compatibility mode and everything and still the same results. thanks for the help in advance

After informing a friend that this was making the leap to XBLA, he thought about playing the PC version less, to which I responded "Infadel!" (at least that's what I should've said). whatareyouwait.info Best site name ever?

Hasn't happened to me, I've gone through an arrowtrap-next-to-door several times in v1.0, but this hasn't appeared.
Hmmm.. Well that's interesting. I made a level of it with the editor and I can't seem to be able to get it working. It's happened to me twice in a row in the real game though. The only two times it ever could have happened, it did happen. ...
