Got it, worked, thanks Good thing I kept a backup of my registry, although it was HKEY_USERS and not HKEY_CURRENT_USER for me. Now some fresh Win7 spelunking may begin..

I have another 2 bugs that I don't think have been reported. If you have a parachute and a ball-and-chain, weird things happen. What I saw happening: the parachute activates, the ball-and-chain is under me (I'm not holding it). Then, the ball-and-chain wants me to fall fast, the parachute wants slow. The resulting is that the parachute is disconnected from you and falls at its normal speed while you fall faster. Might have to do it again, but I can tell you it was weird. Second, arrows also stick to you if you flip-hang while pulling an arrow back in the bow. That's all for now

The ball-and-chain makes you too heavy for the parachute to support you, so it breaks off. But maybe it looks weird visually? I'd love to see a screenshot.

i just finished this, it took over 6 months and 3 versions but i finally did it feedback at this point is probably useless but i'm going to give it anyhow - everything was awesome - music, balance, graphics, gameplay etc. peachy peach
- level generation was sometimes a bitch - e.g. damsels spawning inside the walls (how did she get in there?!)
Also, more than once I have been killed in the ice stages upon starting - by a yeti walking into a spring and stomping my spelunking ass - Again in the ice, aliens can touch you through walls, which I found a little inconsistent and annoying
- the pistol could do with something unique: right now it's nothing but a less powerful shotgun - there's no reason whatsoever to choose it over the shotgun, whilst all the other items have their own purpose. perhaps if you could flip over edges without losing it, or have the ability to pick up another item while carrying the pistol - i think it would feel like more of a unique item rather than a sub-optimal weapon
..any chance of spelunky tshirts around christmas? My girlfriend would love this.

Ok, i finally gave it a serious try (the first time, i died at the tutorial, hm) and it's brilliant. The only little critic i'd have is that it's kinda hard to grab a rope (but maybe it's meant to be this way).

Yeah, it's a little weird at first, but you find ways to always grab it soon enough.
It should always grab it if your holding up when jumping at it, but a lot of the time it doesn't, you just have to be careful.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if someone made a DS port of this? I know it's not portable, but it's not like you are remaking a game with 30 dungeons or something.

If this were a DS game I'd probably pay the full price of an average DS game for it.

That's exactly what i thought yesterday (which is actually the day i started playing Spelunky). edit> but a psp or gp2x port would be fine too.
