I managed to get a screen shot just in time so show off my mad luck

encase it isn't clear, I stole a jet pack then flew away and the enraged shop keeper fell down there. I worked up the courage to get close enough to throw a bomb and it stuck to his head.

EDIT: I proceeded to beat the game with said jet pack and only ran into an altar once to get the Spectacles and only 2 other shops, finished with 2 life. Now if that isn't lucky I don't know what is.

On a side note I'd like to point out how useless rope is after you have the Jet pack and how you shouldn't get any more once you do. So you can get better/more useful items like bombs or possibly flares would be a nice item to buy in case you're scared of running out of them. I also remember someone suggested item upgrades for the rope and bombs, might I say I second this idea with the possibility of getting a pipe bomb I can activate whenever I like or extra long rope/retrievable rope so you can take it back when you're done using it. I'd also like to see alternates to getting health like food/drinks(am I the only one who thought of a bar? Beer! ) or medkits? oh and I'd like to see a lantern that would increase visibility in dark levels but runs on lamp oil. Feed back or improvements on my ideas would be greatly appreciated  Gentleman

My opinion to the teleporter matter is that the range should be fixed (eg. 6 squares and in custom levels the range could be changeable). Only then the teleporter could be seriously used as a weapon (to telefrag) and would be worth carrying through many, many levels, like the shotgun. Then it would also be much easier to do cunning custom levels based on some teleport trick, as was mentioned before. Currently I'd use telefragging only when killing a calm shopkeeper, because you have unlimited tries to do that as long as you stay at least 8 squares away from the back wall of the shop. The teleporter shouldn't indicate anything about where you would teleport, as the idea is, that the player has to use his/her skills and intuition to quickly "calculate" where the Spelunker would teleport.

By the way, I just had the chest and key spawn very far from each other... :D (No, I didn't move them before taking this screenshot.)

The Jetpack is the single most useful item in the entire game. I got one in a crate in the first area, and managed to get through the entire game without dying. Got down to 1 health, but beat the full game. 0 bombs, 18 ropes, 250,000 gold.

Observing the other role that the *****t plays (finally), the flare juggling/inventory thing is actually pretty fair. And I might suggest NOT "fixing" the trees, because that actually gives stuff like the Climbing Gloves, Springy Shoes, and Teleporter some good value to them.

Also, that thing I mentioned before about the Ankh and the Ghost? It happens with Man-Eating Plants, too.

One more lesson learned: Sticky Bombs and Damsels don't mix! Lips Sealed There's only two ways that's gonna end, and they're both ugly. (Clarifying: Carrying a Damsel, while equipped with Sticky Bombs, and then using the "Quick Bomb" key - regardless of direction used - instantly sticks the bomb to the Damsel. This happens with the Idol or corpses too, but you can always chuck those without worrying about blowing them up.)

Finally, as far as the Teleporter goes, I'd suggest adding a crosshair indicating the destination of using it. Learning the actual handling of it is tricky, and using it when, say, standing (edit) OR jumping/falling (/edit) between 2 tiles can get yourself "half-fragged." Which is still enough for a total lose. Another possible fix = "Align to Grid."

So far I like this idea best, coupled with the "align to grid" that the previous post suggested, though I could live without that.

 Cool

pardon the rant..

but man.. the 99.8 version..

every single 1-2 hour session the game would freeze

never had any problem with 99.5

that aside is there any way to be "unwanted"

I robbed a shopkeeper

and escaped the next two level without killing the waiting,
dying to kill me shopkeep's

the next level the shop did not have anymore wanted sign

only happens once

so is this a bug or feature?

much appreciated

If I remember correctly it is a feature, kinda like in GTA you have wanted stars so if you avoid doing anything bad for awhile it goes away. Also on the matter of bugs or not, I noticed if I shoot a shop keeper none will appear at the exit but I'll still see wanted posters and shop keepers will be hostile in their shops. if it is a bug I'd like to keep it  Durr...?
