You're jumping on their heads. With spiked boots. And you're wondering why you're dealing more damage. lol

I think i've found bug: When i have spikeboots, normal enemy dies when i jump on him. But not yeti, he suffers no bonus damage.
Untrue. Under normal circumstances, Yetis die after five stomps. With spiked shoes, they die after two stomps.

I guess since I should post here since I haven't yet and it *is* the Feedback forum.
I love this game so much! I'm around 150 play/deaths right now, trying to build the shortcut tunnel for the Temple (Area 4) now. Also having fun starting from the beginning and seeing how far I can get. Furthest is the first map of the Temple, woo!
This is a brilliant idea for a game and the roguelike idea of random maps should be applied to more genres, in my opinion. It's like playing a different Indiana Jones movie every time (except Indy dies...a lot...)! Outstanding work, Derek!

Is there any chance saved progress can be moved out of the registry and into a file somewhere? Upgraded to Windows 7 and lost all my scores/shortcuts due to not realizing it saved the info in the registry rather than somewhere else.

The progress is saved to this kind of address: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Game Maker\Scores\834524 Perhaps you could move it to Win7 by copying the save data to a .txt file, then switch to Win7 and find the new save data and replace it with the data in the .txt file.

An observation:
What really makes Spelunky feel like a true Roguelike is the way that the various elements of the game interact. Enemies can trigger arrow and spike traps, man-eating plants eat cavemen, yeti can bounce off the springboards... the world really feels alive.
That said, piranha shouldn't just be interested in the Spelunker. If I toss a stunned caveman into the water, then by God those little buggers ought to attack his dumb ass for a change.

That would indeed be so cool!

I have a glitch to report AND a very interesting discovery that will benefit those who strive for the high score, if it can be implemented well.
The glitch: the chest appeared with no key. I looked EVERYWHERE in the level, and am 100% sure it did not spawn.
The discovery: While searching for said key, the ghost spawned, and as I was circling throughout the level searching for the key while avoiding the ghost, I noticed that any gems that the ghost comes in contact with will change to a silver color, and become worth $5,000. This could really benefit someone who has a jetpack, a ton of bombs and is looking to squeeze every drop of gold out of each level.
I suppose it's only practical for pre-Hedjet levels, since that makes the ghost not appear and you count on getting the Hedjet during a high gold run. Still very neat though. Sorry if this is old news.

On a similar note about the piranha, the man-eating plant should also be able to eat the shopkeeper. It's pretty impractical most of the time but there have been a few instances where I could have lured him into one.

Hit my 1000th death. A lot of those were City of Gold & Damsel runs.
Still working on a speedrun.
