congrats on the XBLA version. While I love Spelunky I don't love it enough to buy a 360. If a PS3 version ever materializes however...  Hand Joystick Hand Any Key

Hey Derek, how's about letting the alpha testers test the 360 game, too. Well, hello there!

Maybe I can now convince my friends to play this game since it'll be on Xbox 360. A lot of them stereotype free indie game on PC as garbage or not worth their time, for stupid reasons or none at all. Most also have laptops and hate playing with keyboard, or don't game on their computer at all.

I hope the main concept stays the same, either way I'll get used to it. I just now thought of how great a co-op Spelunky would be. I can dream, can't I?

I just wanted to bring this up: The open beta of the mac version of game maker has been released. When it comes out proper, are you planning on porting Spelunky to the mac?

Congrats on this milestone, Derek! After all the work putting together such a great game, you deserve to maybe make a little money from it. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes for you.

Also, have you thought about making a PSP Minis version for the PSP? That might be another avenue to pursue later on.

I almost won

I got trapped in a tile adjacent to a fire frog, jumped on it, got stuck, and it killed me

Excuse me while I go kill myself

It's about time you made some money off this monster, Derek. Well done.

I just hope that the "new graphics, audio, and other features" coming to the XBLA version don't stray too far from the pixel art and chiptunes that help make the original so charming.

i can't see how the game can get any better than that with pixel art graphics, i think he's going for "painterly" sprites like aquaria, but i may be terribly wrong Smiley

I'd love to see the temples and the generated caves using aquaria style, i'm sure it would be amazing, but who knows  Shrug

Congratulations on releasing 1.0. It's been an honor to watch it grow.

This is possibly going to sounds stupid, but please make the XBLA game standard def friendly. I find that XBLA games are often developed so much with HDTVs in mind that you end up with eye-strain inducing text, pulled back cameras, and busy looking artwork that just turns to mush on a standard def TV. The XNA games seem to be the worst in this area, but even the ones on XBLA proper are guilty. Have a look at 'Splosion Man if you want to see what I'm talking about.
