The biggest surprise of v1.0, though: you're no longer invincible when you're walking through a door. Learned that one the hard way. How am I expected to survive now? (what about doors right next to spike traps in the second area? ouch ouch ouch)

This. Since 1.0 I've been in this situation four times. One of which was with one bomb which over-shot when I threw it, forcing me to suicide on an otherwise good run. Feels bad, man.

If ya'll don't mind, I'm going to repost the bugs mentioned on the last page on the official Spelunky forums.

i think it depends on a person's playing style. i didn't enjoy spelunky anywhere near as much as aquaria for instance Sure, it might not be your thing. But I think the difference is, Aquaria was a decent example of a certain sort of game. A respectable upper-mid-level entry. But Spelunky... well there's nothing else that really does what it does anyway, but even if there were it's hard to imagine it doing it better. I mean, the tutorial is a bit frustrating. And the controls are slightly awkward. And the music is so jaunty I had to turn it off pretty quickly. It isn't perfect. But the thing is, none of that even seems relevant when discussing it. A respectable upper-mid-level game requires perfect presentation. But Spelunky doesn't, because at its core its gameplay just works so, so well, and has been developed so thoroughly.

I fucking love this game. Been playing it for a few months.
Anyway, is it possible to use items/enemies from areas 3 and 4 in the level editor?

I don't know what you guys are talking about, I've gone through countless doors (including the dreaded double-spear-trap door) and never taken any damage in the process in 1.0.

@being hurt while walking through doors:
It hasn't happened to me either, but every time there was such a chance, i was already halfway through the animation. Maybe you can only get hurt just as you start to go through the door? In which case you can get through spiketrapped doors if your fast enough.

It's not even really a matter of being fast enough. If you hold the up key, your spelunker will go through the door immediately when he is in front of it, no timing needed.

I beat the game a few minutes from when I woke up today!
I feel better. Now I'm gonna try to beat it again!

It's oddly inconsistent. I've been killed twice while walking through a door - once with a bomb, once with a shotgun blast - but now I'm having trouble reproducing the phenomenon. There must be some variables at work here that I'm not seeing. Let me revise my "biggest surprise of v1.0" accordingly: shopkeepers can now be eaten by man-eating plants, and it pisses them off.
