presents...

In a world that you helped to create...
where humanity takes different forms,
you must face the monster hunters...
...because you're in love with a dragoness!
...
It's time to kick their ass in style! Wink
(and this land offers plenty ways to do just that)
Who's the monster NOW?

Synopsis
Shaken by his father's assassination,
a young scientist escapes into a fantasy-themed world he invented together with him,
where he finds true love in the dragon queen,
the first unicorn, a phoenix warrior, a dinosaur adventure-archeologist, a sunlight lioness noblewoman, a swan ice princess and a snake scientist.
and together with those 7 lovely ladies he must now save his creation from the monster hunters
(and the evil doppelganger he unwittingly unleashed upon it in his quest for immortality).

So, what's the game like?

Hardcore, unconventional, nostalgic-yet-experimental, weird and proud of it. Smiley

The game burrows heavily from various sources,
so describing it in a few paragraphs won't do it justice,
but let me start with a few obvious ones.

First off, it's like Devil May Cry.
The stylish character action game genre (also known as "cuhrayzee")
offers deep, expressive combat that encourages mastery by measuring your awesomeness against nigh-impossible odds.
The awesome bosses, difficult enemies, cool weapons and "a somewhat wacky yet hardcore sense of style" is a cherry on top.
The cool, confident protagonist is not all talk and can back it all up with his charming,
yet jaw-dropping combat acrobatics that leaves others in the dust,
while he plays with his already-defeated foes and loves every bit of it.

Secondly, it's like Dark Souls.
This beautifully-interconnected game is hard,
yet forgiving in a lot of ways... but only if you're willing to pay attention!
Treat it like any other game and you'll die, a lot.
You cannot beat the game half-awake on your first try - you have to earn that privilege!
But when you do... you feel like a true badass for doing so!
And even then, multiple playthroughs... even backtracking through the same areas, can still surprise you.
The vast amount of options presented to you as a reward for your exploration,
tailor the game to your own playstyle (and bend the world to your will),
giving you the satisfaction of feeling clever for figuring all of this out
and walking away alive as a better, stronger and more confident version of your former self.
(if possible, I will try to implement the multiplayer/network features at a later date)

It's also like NetHack.
This game is full of surprises, due to the sheer amount of interactions that can happen in it.
Because in that new unfamiliar place you're exploring,
you never know what monster might be just around the corner,
whether it will try to eat your armor or turn you into stone,
whether that potion is safe to drink, the weapon is not cursed or that magic tome reliable.
It's all one big improvisation,
but once you get the hang of it, you feel like a genius for outsmarting everyone and living to tell the tale.
The amount of characters you can play as and the constant surprises
always manage to keep the experience fresh, despite the game's technical limitations.

And just like NetHack had a homage to the original Rogue and Sokoban within it, Beer!
I too decided to remember Nethack in my own game,
by giving all possible playable character a unified quest structure that is a throwback to the game that is pretty much as old as I am:

And speaking of interactivity,
I couldn't have left out the comparison to MineCraft.
The world around you is not just a nice decoration or a backdrop for your actions, but a means to empower them.
Every bit of the world is intractable, making it much more personal, rich and alive because of it.
Every bit of it, from the ground below you to the trees above you,
can become a tool in your hands to overcome seemingly-impossible challenges.
You are as powerful as you're resourceful.
The world offers so much possibilities, but I'm sure you can figure it out! Wink

Last, but not least, I must talk about the TCG/CCG aspect of my game.
Early on you receive an incomplete tome titled "Legends of Zeranoth",
which you will fill out with its missing pages during the course of your adventures.
The people you meet, the magic you discover, the techniques you learn
and the adventures you embark on - those are recorded within the pages of the ancient tome.
Many times you'd have to explore different branches of history
and stories of other characters in order to uncover the things you seek.
Folk tales, fading memories, written records and the very earth you walk upon
can prove useful to piece together the puzzle of history and yield you a new find.
Although for those who are willing to speed up the process,
there are professional explorers who are willing to help you out... for a price, of course!
Those are the folks who know the whereabouts of time-lost artifacts,
usually in a trap-filled temple only they know the location of or somewhere else entirely
and aren't willing to part with their secrets so easily.
However, I'm convinced that there are other ways to repay them for their efforts.
Perhaps something that you find during your travels might tickle their fancy?
Regardless, once you come to an agreement, the explorer sets out to retrieve the artifacts for you.
At this point you can continue with your own adventure until the explorer returns or...
witness the their efforts as a playable mission, where you can explore... and perhaps uncover something extra?

There is a romance aspect to the game,
but how it's presented largely depends on you.
The amount of gameplay to mature content ratio and its intensity is similar to the Witcher series,
so while it does have sex in it, you can't really call it an eroge.
I'm really into dragons and other creatures of myth,
but I'm aware that not everyone feels the same,
while others would like a more complete experience.
That's why I chose to create 3 explicit content settings that you pick before you begin playing.
  • Cool (high censorship) - the game is toned down significantly,
for example replacing love encounters with plot-relevant summaries,
so that you won't miss on any important info that is otherwise revealed through character dialogue.
  • Hot (low censorship) - the game shows just enough for you to know what's going on.
Remains tasteful, while also trying to stay faithful to the original vision.
  • Spicy (no censorship) - the complete picture for those who wish to seek it,
where I have full creative freedom. Political correctness be damned.

Since it's very unlikely that the last setting will be allowed on online stores,
there will be a separate "Director's Cut" version of the game that has it.
It will have extra content and premium goodies for those willing to support the continual development of this project.
