Out Of Index (OOI), the first showcase of experimental games in South Korea, takes place in Seoul. The OOI organizers, a committee of 3 indie game developers, announced that the submission for its first showcase is open, starting the 8th of May.
OOI is an experimental games festival inspired by GDC's popular session Experimental Gameplay Workshop. The main idea of the festival is to inspire the game industry with new ideas and experimental energy. OOI is comprised of experimental game contest and offline showcase / party. The committee of 3 independent game developers, Jonghwa Kim, Sun Park, and Jay Jaewoo Jeon runs OOI.
‘Games with unprecedented, innovative game mechanics.’ is the definition of ‘experimental game’ by OOI committee. As long as the requirements fit, anyone can submit to the showcase, regardless of nationality, status, or age. For the sake of convenience for selection and showcase, only digital games with playable demo are accepted.
The submission is due by June 22th, and selected games get chance to present at an offline showcase / party scheduled in late July. Detailed information is available on OOI’s website,
