Right now all you can do is place buildings but I think it's pretty spiffy.

Will this be a city-sim ala Sim City?

Very spiffy.

In SimCity there are UFO attacks. I can think of some very specific invaders from space that would fit your art style quite nicely. Make it happen!

This totally brings back memories of the first Sim City I played!

1-bit is great but I would advise against black-on-white. It's too harsh. Something along the lines of colors of first Gameboy, perhaps?

This sounds fun I might do this. Question, how copyrighted is this?

Is it really that bad? Because I actually really like how it looks right now but if you think it's a necessity I might check it out.

Well, you could index the colors and let the player choose color scheme. But I think even black and white is ok.

I like the color scheme, but some subtle color nuances would be cool (like the hospital having a red cross (although that might be copyright material :D)).

Black and white is fine, but I think you should stick to low res for the whole screen. Not mix low res and high res (like the UI). Just my thought.  Wizard

Well you can zoom in and out so I can't really keep it consistent all the time. And the baby and money signs are gonna pop up in the actual city space eventually.

This caught my eye, I'm going to follow this.
Maybe you should leave an option for the player to choose what palette they want? Smiley

It depends on what sort of information relevant to your game, but it might be hard to express local information with continuous values (crime, pollution, property values, etc.) without obscuring the identity of the buildings.

You could have filters that use the 2nd color to convey information, like overlays in SimCity maps.  Like, in a "crime" filter, black and white could be no crime, black and light pink could be infrequent crime, black and blood red could be rampant crime.

While it technically breaks the 1-bit-ness, each sprite remains 1-bit, and in any case I think it might look good.

I'm just gonna keep it simple and black and white. This is the farthest I've ever gotten on a game and I don't wanna overwhelm myself with crazy amounts of ideas and lose motivation.

Excellent restraint and self-awareness.  Game looks fun, I look forward to playing it.

This is FANTASTIC! I absolutely cannot wait to try this.

And you're wearing sun glasses, tanroar. I knew you were a legend.

I was looking at screenshots from Sim City 1 YESTERDAY, (believe it or not), comparing it to Sim City 5 after seen screenshots from Sims 4... you know how it is. But yeah, I loved how it looked.

I will keep watch Smiley
