Hello guys,
I open this thread in order to report the progress of Active Soccer 2, a new arcade football game inspired by '90s football game masterpieces.

The original Active Soccer was a mobile game born as a starting point from which building something bigger, something really interesting.

Active Soccer 2 improves the game in all aspects.
Don’t expect it to compete with FIFA 14 or PES because it is not trying to, but instead embrace the game for what it is, a fun arcade experience.

Active Soccer 2 will have interesting features, I mention few of them:

  • Classic game play
  • Online cross-platform experience: users can play online on different systems (ie: Mac vs PC or even PC vs iOS)
  • Full career simulation: users can manage the team, handle finances, buy/sell/exchange players playing for division of all over the world
  • Weather Conditions
  • 800+ teams
  • 25.000 players
  • 20.000 simulated matches per season

Here are some screenshots:

I'd like to see a really arcadey football game, I'm talking based-on-galactic-football-arcadey here

that'd be awesome to see

Can you record a short gameplay vid so we can see what's the gameplay gonna be like? that's the most important thing here, since the graphics are pretty enough Smiley

Are you planning on adding character/team creators?

I would also be interested in seeing some gameplay footage Smiley
Judging by the screenshots this looks like SWOS = awesome.

I really dig this so far, looking at the images.

What are you going to do about licensing?

I saw the german national team there and remembered that Football Manager had trouble with that stuff, they had to replace all the names of the german players with fictional ones at some point due to them not paying FIFA money for the right to use the real names.

If the game is easy and fun will be great. I don't like FIFA or PES to much complicated. I prefer the old fotball games and easy controls.

If you can do something similar to the "Danone World Football"

Arrows to move and 2 buttons to pass and shoot. ALso while the ball is in the air you can give effect using arrows. Sometimes i install the game to play some matches Tongue

While the gameplay is fun the other things no matter.

Will be planned a playable demo/beta soon for feedback?

We are studyng a solution, we could introduce a team editor to resolve the issue

The game supports 2 buttons and you can swerve the ball just moving the stick after the shoot.
Thanks for your support

i am preparing a video, so you can have an idea about the game play.
The video is taken from a work in progress version, so some features and visuals may change in the future.

Stay tuned!

I've been looking for a kickoff style game for a long time now. I'm hoping this game delivers on the physics side of things - please no ball sticking to the player type of gameplay Smiley The only thing I'm missing is the replay functionality - I'm guessing it's just not showcased in the vid?

Anyway - voted on the game and hope you guys make it!

I agree with you, NSS 5 is a great game.
Active Soccer 2 is more focused on the simulation of the football game, you control and manage the whole team. The arcade part is maybe the most advanced for this kind of game, you can have countless different way of playing, each goal you will score is different, the AI is advanced so you can see your team mates do the right movement, etc...
Anyway you can watch the video and you can have an idea about the game.

Looks great and I do really miss the arcade football games from the 90's even though I do still play Fifa and PES every now and then. I do like that there are no trick stick mechanics, since I've never really enjoyed them too much because of not wanting to learn them for just casual play. All the best and I look forward to trying out the game.
