Love it how you can just call every retro gamer an idiot. The retro gaming movement is where people play and enjoy old games. But of course, Eres here calls those people idiots, so now I dislike them for the idiots they are. Oh, Eres, you are wise beyond the confines of the internet you live in.

Retro gaming is gaming imitating gaming of an earlier era, i.e. playing old games. Retro games are games imitating games of an earlier era, i.e. they're low resolution.

Word games! Fun!
Retrospective means looking back, so yes, old games aren't retro (unless they were a new take on even older games). However, you can take a retrospective look at old games.
So, playing old games can be called retro gaming. Playing retro games can also be called retro gaming. But old games aren't necessarily retro games.
Of course, if retro takes a new meaning as a genre, then anything goes.

Mine is Azrael's Tear. Started playing it again and was amazed that I was still able to solve some of the puzzles.

Chip's Challenge Tower of the Sorcerer DRoD Wonderland series
I've been mostly on consoles except the past half decade, but still have fond memories of old PC games.
